I'm Dana Ward and today we're dishing on the styles worn by the stars of the new film, The Runaways. Of course, we're talking about Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. And let's just say that these two ladies not only star in the movie as true rock stars, but they also dominated the red carpet for the Hollywood premiere. Let's start with Kristen. Definitely a bit more girly and fun than we're used to seeing her dress. She chose a vibrant little number with sexy sheer sections, made by Doo Ri. The black peep-toe heels, dark nails and simple jewelry in the form of rings, were right up Stewart's style ally. A simple half-pulled-back do and fresh makeup topped off the look. Over on the other end, The Runaways co-star Dakota Fanning wore a black Valentino short dress, adorned with tons of sequins. Sheer must have been the trend of the night because Fanning's dress also had a sexy see-thru area, giving the dress a strapless illusion. The full skirt got paired with some black pumps and her hair featured a deep middle part and again, fresh makeup. I think these ladies looked lovely and it's pretty cool that they didn't play into the ultra rock and roll theme of the movie like expected. After co-starring in two 'Twilight' movies and 'The Runaways,' Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have formed a close friendship similar to the bond that has held their characters, real-life bandmates Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, together for so many years. Dakota told ET about her feelings toward Kristen, saying, "She's definitely become one of my best friends and she's an amazing girl." The kind words circulated at Thursday night's Los Angeles premiere of 'The Runaways.' Cherie revealed that "my knees buckled" upon finding out Dakota would be portraying her in the film. Kristen hoped she played an accurate account of Joan and was mentored by the rocker throughout the process. "There's only so much that you can get from photos and footage online, just stuff that you can dig up. To really capture someone's essence, it's nothing that you can ever claim," she said modestly. "The Runaways," opening April 9, tells the true story of teenage girls from the '70s growing up fast in the rock-and-roll lifestyle. In real life, actors Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have been living as teenage girls in the '00s growing up fast with the lifestyle of movie superstars. But if there were any urge to someday go all Billy Bob Thornton, the two claim the biopic got it out of their systems. "We couldn't be more [like rockers]," Stewart explained of the gig portraying Joan Jett during her early days in the hard-partying all-girl band. "This is the biggest opportunity to be a rock star."
