The action began on Saturday, January 3rd at 12:00noon when a local qualifying event was held at the Big Bird's Ballroom, 700 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, where 10 semi-finalist junior/child couples were selected, and will go on to be part of the Samsung Eternity® Kids Ballroom Challenge competition during the DANCING WITH THE STARS performance at Air Canada Centre on Monday, January 12th. In a December interview with QThemusic.com, Evans said that the musical is "in a pretty good state." Weve written a lot of the songs at this point. Its in a pretty good state, and I hope itll open this year. Were not sure where in the world, but most likely it will be in New York. With U2's front-man Bono and Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor involved (she took away the prize in 1997 for her innovative direction of Disney's The Lion King), I don't doubt it. Taymor is known for her grandiose visions: outlandish costumes and whole worlds unfolding on stage. If anyone is capable of recreating Spidey's vibrant New York for theatregoers, it's her. And Taymor isn't the only big name on board. Both of her Across the Universe stars, Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess, were involved in the musical's workshop, a pre-production run-through of songs, script and ideas to tempt investors and generate interest in a show. Sturgess hasn't signed on for anything more, but Wood has been cast as Mary Jane Watson, as the Los Angeles Times reported earlier this month. I start rehearsals in June and will be on Broadway for a year ... Yeah, Ill be dangling from buildings and things. It should be fun. Who knows? This might actually come together. Being a huge fan of anything Marvel, and of Spider-Man in particular, I'm definitely excited to see what Taymor, Bono and scriptwriter Glenn Berger come up with. But some part of me has to wonder if superheroes are meant to sing and dance. Sure, they've got the tights all figured out, but is tap-dancing really the best way to strike fear into the heart of a super-villain? Luckily, The Edge has more-or-less calmed my fears. There wont be a full orchestra itll be something like 18 or 20 musicians: string players, brass, some woodwind. The core will be a rocknroll band. Le Rêve ('"The Dream" in French) was the first production show to open in the Wynn Las Vegas casino resort. It is set in a one million-gallon (water) capacity theatre and features diving and feats of strength with state-of-the-art special effects, where no seat is more than 40 feet (12 m) from the stage. The production was created by Franco Dragone and is similar to the shows produced by Cirque du Soleil. Dragone, who was the man behind O, La Nouba, Mystere, Alegría and Quidam, has not revealed the cost of the production. However, major Las Vegas shows average around $30 to $40 million to produce. Le Rêve was the working name of the resort before it was changed to Wynn Las Vegas. "Le Rêve" means "The Dream" in French, and the name of the centerpiece painting that Steve Wynn owns, Le Rêve by Picasso. Recently, Wynn Las Vegas bought the rights to the show from Dragone to make some changes, including the logo. Wynn now owns all rights to the show, with Dragone still on the label. The stage contains numerous platforms which may be raised or lowered. TRIVIA BY REPORTER HORACIO CAMBEIRO: -Maksim Chmerkovskiy, one of the professionals from the hit show Dancing with the Stars, helped to choreograph Le Rêve . -Sixteen scuba divers are required for each performance, and they use 32 air tanks and 3,500 cubic feet of compressed air. A sophisticated network of divers, cameras, breathing systems and lights allows the artists to feel comfortable underwater and ensures the safety of the cast and crew. -Each member of the cast must become scuba-certified before performing in the theater. -The cast of 86 artists in Le Rêve represents 17 countries, including my own one: Argentina. -The majority of the performers come from competitive gymnastics, swimming, or circus backgrounds. Their past accomplishments include world and national (including the Olympics) competitions. -There are 2,040,000 watts of lighting power in the Le Rêve Theater. -Le Rêve was featured on an episode of the Fine Living series, What Makes it Tick, which was produced by NorthSouth Productions.

Demetria Devonne "Demi" Lovato (born August 20, 1992) is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock. Lovato's debut album, Don't Forget was released on September 23, 2008 in the United States through Hollywood Records, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. Her good friends The Jonas Brothers co-wrote several songs with Lovato for this album. During the summer of 2008, she performed as the Jonas Brothers' opening act for their Burning Up Tour.
