Danny Lloyd (born January 1 1973 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American former child actor.
<p>His first and best-known role is Danny "Doc" Torrance in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. He was selected for the role of Danny Torrance due to his ability to retain his concentration for extended periods of time. Because of his age (6) and the genre of The Shining (1980), Danny was closely guarded by Kubrick during filming and didn't know it was a horror film until several years later, despite his notoriety and his famous line "Redrum! Redrum!"
<p>After The Shining, he appeared in "The making of The Shining" (1980), and then acted in only one other film, the made-for-TV movie Will: The Autobiography of G. Gordon Liddy. The film was based on the autobiography of G. Gordon Liddy who spent 54 months in prison following the Watergate scandal. Lloyd played the young Liddy.
