The 'bomb Iran' rhetoric has been picking up across America recently, from Senator Lindsey Graham; David Broder, to the out of touch politicians and their neocon warmongering. Matthew Duss, National Security Editor at the Center for American Progress.
David Broder, columnist for the Washington Post, said Obama should spend much of 2011 and 2012 orchestrating a showdown with Iran. He calls it just a little fear mongering in order to rally the nation, because "Iran is the greatest threat to the world in the young century."

A devastating look at TV's impact on the presidency." --White House press legend Helen Thomas. "Pertinent, powerful, persuasive, handsomely produced... Brilliant..." -- LA Times Seven minute Segment I "Program Introduction" featured on YouTube. Hollywood star and activist Martin Sheen shows how broadcast TV networks create winners and losers in US presidential elections by typecasting the candidates in a drama of their own making in this long-suppressed documentary feature about the 1980 Presidential Election Campaign when Ronald Reagan defeated President Jimmy Carter. Watch how network news shows use polls, gaffes, flip-flops, stereotypes, and showbiz values to pump the ratings and distract you from what you need to know to be an informed citizen and understand what's really happening in America. The program dissects CBS, NBC and ABC News coverage to reveal TV's "hidden hand" in changing the outcome of this landmark election, exposing the myth of the Reagan Revolution and the made-for-TV "conservative tide" that would so radically change America's course. A must for news and politics fans and all Americans interested in the integrity of the fundamental act of national citizenship--voting for President of the United States. A generation ago, one film dared to tell the truth. Now it's your turn see and understand why the oligarchs who own America ...
Blunt: "In terms of social security, even when President Bush wanted to privatize the accounts, I said, look, I was reported saying this. I said, 'if you want to get out there and start talking about this, we're going to watch real carefully, and we're going to let you lead this fight because I'm not sure this system will work", and it would not have worked as well as we had hoped it would. I never supported it. I had lots of hearings on this around the district to see what people." Get the facts: Blunt: It Might Have Been Better If We Switched To Private Social Security Accounts Decades Ago. During a 2004 CNN interview, Blunt argued that the US should have switched to private Social Security accounts decades before. "[The private Social Security accounts proposal] is a transition for younger workers. It might have been better if we had done it quicker, like a decade, decades ago, but we didn't. If we do this transition, we will never have a baby boomer problem again, because every group is doing more to take care of its own retirement, rather than just take care of the retirement of how ever many people happen to be retired at that time." [CNN, 11/10/04] Duties As Majority Whip Included Helping President Sell His Plan to Congress: As reported by Gannett in 2005, "One of Blunt's duties as House majority whip is to help the president sell his plan to add individual investment accounts to Social Security. Blunt said the Social Security debate 'is about math and whether this ...

October 4, 1987 www.amazon.com Watch all of the clips: thefilmarchived.blogspot.com Seymour (Sy) Myron Hersh (born April 8, 1937) is a United States Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist and author based in Washington, DC He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker magazine on military and security matters. His work first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. His 2004 reports on the US military's mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison gained much attention. The White House Press Corps is the group of journalists or correspondents usually stationed at the White House in Washington, DC to cover the president of the United States, White House events and news briefings. Their offices are located in the West Wing. The White House Press Secretary or a deputy generally holds a weekday news briefing, which takes place in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. Often a smaller group of reporters known as the White House press pool is assembled to report back to their colleagues on events where the venue would make open coverage logistically difficult. When a new US president is elected, some news organizations change their correspondents, most often to the reporter who had been assigned to cover the new president during the preceding campaign. For example, after the 2008 presidential campaign, ABC News moved Jake ...

One year ago today, Arlen Specter shocked the political world. He had surveyed public opinion polls, it seems, and found that the prospects of winning a Republican primary were bleak. After 44 years in the GOP-campaigning for Nixon, Reagan, two Bushes, and McCain-Arlen Specter was now a Democrat. Or was he? We didn't know what to think when Specter immediately joined every single Republican in voting against President Obama's budget, then told the New York Times that he hoped Republican Norm Coleman would win the disputed Senate race in Minnesota. Specter quickly admitted, "I forgot what team I was on." Of course, when you've been on both sides of every issue, it's easy to get confused; especially when you call yourself a Democrat, but tout the same tax plan as Pat Toomey, and proudly declare that McCain would have been a better President than Obama. At this point, we don't know what Arlen Specter actually believes in-and it's not clear that he does either. Specter ran to the right when he was losing to Pat Toomey, then moved back to the center when he switched parties. When Joe Sestak got in the race, he switched positions again. All that political maneuvering sounds exhausting. It's no wonder Specter told the Morning Call that he often wonders if he should have stayed a Republican. So which party is it, Arlen? Can we really trust him to vote like a Democrat when he no longer has an election to win? As the Washington Post's David Broder observed after Specter's most ...

Combining elements of rap, folk and indie, the duo created a what has often been referred to as a thinking mans melodic hip hop record. Gregg also says the GOP doesn't patronize colleague Jim Demint's comments that voting against the President's health care bill will "break him" and will be his "waterloo".
