The first 12 release in advance of Spectrals state-of-the-union Document compilation comprises three shades of blistering tech-house from label mainstays Seth Troxler & Matthew Dear, Ryan Crosson, and Lee Curtiss. On Seth Troxler & Matthew Dears Hurt (Martinez Remix), the Swedish/Danish producer with the Spanish name gives the 2009 summer jam a full go-`round, turning the once spartan track into a busy rave-up, all congas and anxious energy. On the flip, Ryan Crossons Dont Look Further traffics in rickety cosmic soul with a two-ton thump in the low end and Lee Curtiss Life Lessons sees the Detroit producer reign it all in for a muted exercise in claps-and-kicks minimalism.
The Dears and director Christopher Mills are pleased to announce the exclusive video premiere of "SAVIOUR" on AUX.tv. Described by the director as "...one of the most honest, most real music video performances Ive been lucky enough to shoot in my 12+ years of making videos," this is an intimate video for a very personal song. From the album Asa Breed on the Ghostly International label, this video premiered on MTV2's subterranean, 10.22.08. Directors Judy Welfare and Jeremy Hollister capture much of the song's fervent busyness by using a special 5 camera rig splayed out in a semi-circle and attached to the bed of a truck. With Dear literally hanging out over the street, they used mirrors to create a layered effect, similar to the vocals on Don and Sherri, except these shots were achieved for real, in-camera.
