Sound comparison between a cheap China produced "silent" diesel generator and a more expensive EU produced SDMO Alize. This comparison is not quite fair as the single cylinder air cooled China diesel is running at 3000 rpm as opposed to 1500 rpm on the water cooled 3 cylinder SDMO... The price tag on the SDMO is also about 5-6 times bigger... The camera seems to pick up different sounds than my ear so in real life, the SDMO seems even better than in this video.

There's nothing more boring than looking at videos of all these beautifully restored engines on youtube, which are doing nothing but turning themselves over and looking pretty! Diesels love to work, don't they? ! Well this one gets to work hard, and regularly. No glazed bores here... The two major objects driven by my engine are a heavy duty 240 volt alternator and an air compressor. The air compressor is a brand new 1950's made Bendix-Westinghouse ...
