Come run along in Disney's Princess Half Marathon. The race started just outside of the Epcot parking lot. Runners then proceeded up World Drive towards the Magic Kingdom. Upon entering the Magic Kingdom, participants passed through Tomorrowland, Cinderella Castle and Frontierland. Participants then proceed down World Drive to make their return to Epcot. The course took participants through Future World and past Spaceship Earth on their way to the finish The event was held Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Walt Disney World. 2010 was the coldest Disney World Marathon ever. Can you tell from our video? Regardless, we still had a "magical time," even the ones who had to volunteer for the marathon and the only guy in our group silly enough to take the "Goofy Challenge," running both the half marathon and the full marathon in the same weekend!

Since running a marathon just isn't enough of a challenge, Poncho took on the Goofy Challenge...half marathon Saturday and full marathon Sunday. Ali kept him company for the marathon run Sunday. We had some unusual Florida weather with temps in the 20's and snow in the air Saturday morning! Poncho had a great half marathon, enjoying the scenery and still running it in under 2 hours. The plan for the marathon was to have fun and take lots of pictures with the disposable cameras that were given out in the race bags. That's exactly what we did. It was a cold weekend, but fun all the same! See you in 2011!

2010 Disney World Marathon Weekend. Kari does the Half Marathon and Deb does the Goofy Challenge at Walt Disney World, Florida. Temperatures were at an all time low. (high 20's to mid 30's) and there was sleet at the start of the half marathon. Despite the weather, the weekend was still amazing. Good times had by all. Congrats to all the runners. Cheers!

On Jan 10 and 11, we were magically inspired by Disney and Friends during the Goofy Challenge. Here are the remarkable stories of the many people whom I met who were running for cancer and for many great causes including for themselves. The entire experience was incredible and up lifting. I learned a lot from other people. Some had lost close friends. Some had lost a family member. Many were running for someone who is surviving cancer. Others were running for themselves after experiencing a medical miracle. They were willing and able to beat the odds to complete a remarkable task -- The Marathon of Miracles. So, this weekend I had both the hardest and happiest runs of my life.

Participants from all 50 states and 50 countries started their run near Epcot and made their way through the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom before concluding at Epcot. This years marathon had a wide range of ages- from 18 to 78. Adriano Bastos from Brazil won his sixth straight, seventh overall, Disney Marathon with a winning time of 2:22:08. Japan's Lisa Mizutani completed the course in 2:51:20 winning the womens division for the second year in a row. The Endurance Series at Walt Disney World Resort gives recreational athletes of all ages and abilities the chance to walk, jog, run, bike and swim their way around the world. From marathons to road races to triathlons, athletes from across the country and around the world compete to stay in shape, achieve personal best times and raise donations for charitable causes.
