04/29/10 - www.TheTechTrader.com - It was a big day for Akamai Technologies Inc. (AKAM) today, a stock we have been following for a year now. It continues to move higher in a very strong rising channel. The top of that channel right now looks like it was hit today with a big spike up after earnings and upgrades, 6.45 today at 39.63 or nearly 20% on 16 million shares traded. If it gets through at this level it could head for the '07 high up around the $50 level. Delcath Systems (DCTH), which we really like and have been trading lately, broke out several days ago and has been trending higher ever since. It was up .33 to 16.18 today setting new all-time highs. If you look at the weekly chart you'll see how this stock has been blowing, moving right through the top of the channel and continues to edge higher. Looking for a move maybe that takes this to the 1920 zone. Mindspeed Technologies (MSPD) is doing very well of late. It popped two days ago and looks like it wants to go higher. The Food and Drug Administration approved biotechnology firm Dendreon Corp's (NASDAQ:DNDN) drug Provenge Thursday, which was developed to treat late-stage prostate cancer. Dendreon will reportedly have the drug available at 50 treatment facilities along with plans to raise manufacturing within the next year. As a result, shares of the company rose to 14.8% at $45.50 earlier today. The company continues to trade up 14.66% at $45.43 on volume of 5434603, versus the average volume of 3640690.

Sequenom (SQNM) was up .74 or 16.37% to 5.26 on 17.5 million shares, the biggest trading day it;s had in a year, after it announced the launch of the Fetal Sex Determination test today. Next trading target around 6.50, short-term, secondary around 8.00-8.50. Valassis Communications (VCI) was up .98 today or 3.94% to 25.87 on nearly a million shares today. It looks' like its going to test the 27.00 range, but if the price-volume range gets it to that, this stock could explode to the low to mid-30.00. Targets of 8.75 should be reached shortly short-term and if it takes out 9.50, it should be able to get as high as 11.50 long-term. Integrated Silicon Solution (ISSI), a member of the Fab 40, has been flying as of late. Up .27 or 3.76% on 676000 shares. At 7.45 it just moved above the '07 highs, and 9.50 '05 highs are in sight for the next trading target. Pharmacyclics (PCYC) has a beautiful short-term rising channel under way. If it breaks to the up side it could make a move to 6.25-6.50, short-term trading target. Telestone Technologies (TSTC), which had broken down taking this stock back almost in half from 25.84 to under 12.70. It consolidated for a couple weeks, formed a kind of wedge, but broke out today with thrust right at the moving averages.
