After the first day of receiving the Apple iPad i decided to test out how it would work as an eReader with all the hype around it. Unfortunately, the outcome did not match the predictions. There is a lot of glare, and after about 15 minutes of reading your eyes WILL get tired. Here's my take on the review and i threw in our Ectaco jetBook in the mix as a comparison to outdoor reading in the end. Comments are welcome and don't forget to subscribe for all the coolest info and more from Ectaco. You can also follow us on Twitter here: twitter.com
E-book readers are a fun category of gadgets, because their shape is not yet set in stone. So how about an e-book reader that actually opens like a book? The ap's Peter Svensson reviews the $499 Entourage Edge. (March 24)
Nintendo's e-Reader add-on for the Game Boy Advance released in Japan in 2001 and 2002 in North America. A mild success, the e-Reader was also eventually bundled with the GBA. Using a licensed dot code technology, cards containing embedded data could be scanned into the device and then played. Cards could have different games, applications, or items for other games. Many different kinds of cards were eventually released for the e-Reader, the most popular of which were full NES games on 5 cards. Cards for the Gamecube Animal Crossing, cards for Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, cards for the Pokemon TCG/Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire versions, and many others were also available to purchase. The e-Reader is a fairly common item, as are its cards, and it's easy to find them on eBay or in secondhand shops for very cheap. Even though it's little more than a novelty now, I recommend checking it out if you've got a few extra bucks to spare.

This video was filmed by Charbax at armdevices.net from the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. This is the first 6" e-reader with a capacitative touch screen, it enables it to be much more compact than the Kindle as text input can be done on the touch screen. Although this is an early prototype demonstrated by Sagem Wireless at Mobile World Congress. The feature of using a capacitative touch screen on the e-reader does not remove from the readability of the screen and allows for finger touch screen input through the interfaces. A capacitative stylus input may also be supported. This device will include 3G and wifi wireless data modems. As a Windows based device the tm2 runs a variety of eReaders. In this video we look at two different eReader applications, eReader.com and the PC version of the popular Kindle reader from Amazon. Your Tablet PC becomes on of the most powerful eReaders available by having content from multiple providers and not only that, you can take your reading to any other PC or device that has a compatible reader. But wait, there's even more! The power and flexibility of Windows allows you to do cool and unique things not capable on the Kindle device or even the upcoming iPad. While the Kindle reader doesn't support annotations in the PC client at this time, but using OneNote 2010, we will demonstrate how to take annotations to the next level, with ink!

One of my resolutions for 2010 is to read more. I used to read a lot but have gotten away from it recently. But, my new E-Reader, the Libre from Aluratek, is quickly turning me back into someone who loves to read. I have been interested in e books and e-readers for a number of months and finally got serious about doing some research. What I found was that there are a lot of options in the market and many of them are fairly affordable. I wanted something straight forward that was lower priced and offered a lot of flexibility. My research led me to the Libre. Here is my video review. Be sure to check out my blog post for more info and links to resources: www.bikebeerbbq.com
This is the first part of my personal Nook review. I had to split it in 2 parts, since it was to long. I use the Nook in Germany and it works just great over here. It has a few minor bugs, but they are not as bad, as some people make it sound. It is a ereader and it does it's job great. Every new reader on the market has it's little problems here and there and they are solved in a short period of time. I love the Nook and think it is the best reader on the market at the moment.
