By the age of 11 Cle-Smyf started out playing the drums and singing at his home church, Bethel Apostolic where he was baptized. By the age of 17 he began writing songs and making beats with an urban contemporary gospel sound. He created his first self produced album, The Way You Want Me, which was completed in 2006.
