A deadly earthquake has hit China's Yunnan Province. The quake measured 6.0 on the Richter scale. And, according to official figures, it left at least one person dead and over 300 injured. Here's more on the story. So far, only one casualty has been reported. Thousands of homes were also damaged by the quake, leaving residents to take shelter in temporary accommodation. Authorities in Yao'an County estimate 30 severe injuries among more than 300 hurt. They put the number of collapsed homes at 18000 in a hasty initial estimate. Around one million people are affected in the region. The quake struck at 7:19 pm in Guantun Township, in a mountainous area. The US Geological Survey estimated the severity of the quake at 5.7 at a depth of about 10 km. The area has regularly suffered earthquakes and aftershocks since an 8.0 quake in neighboring Sichuan in May last year.

Earthquake Hit our in house training. FOR REAL! The earthquake did hit. thefootage is questionable, but the fact remains that we were training in the conference room on May 19, 2009 at 3:24PM when the earthquake struck! We were too engrossed to notice! We didnt actually catch the earthquake on tape, I made this for our friends to see if we could notice the earthquake when we played back the video. When she went to bed at night, she cried for her father and mother. When a special centre for children opened near her home, Doudou slowly began to find comfort in songs and games with other children.
