In Chapter 8 of 11 in his 2010 interview with Capture Your Flag host Erik Michielsen, East African venture capitalist and conservation investor Josep Oriol shares why he believes East Africa is full of transformational investment potential. He cites three factors. One, given the small economic footprint, large impact investment opportunities exist. Two, modernization opportunities exist across existing resource constrained infrastructure, including public health and education. Three, East Africa development offers a promise of advancement that can promote cultural change. Oriol highlights how this can increase population hope and self confidence by shifting aspirations away from football stars and politicians to new careers options previously not understood or thought possible. Strayhorn's relationship with Ellington was always difficult to pin down: Strayhorn was a gifted composer and arranger who seemed to flourish in Duke's shadow. Ellington was somewhat of a father figure and the band, by and large, was affectionately protective of the diminutive, mild-mannered, unselfish Strayhorn, nicknamed by the band "Strays", "Weely", and "Swee' Pea". Ellington may have taken advantage of him, but not in the mercenary way that others had taken advantage of Ellington; instead, he used Strayhorn to complete his thoughts, while giving Strayhorn the freedom to write on his own and enjoy at least some of the credit he deserved. Though Duke Ellington took credit for much of Strayhorns work, he did not maliciously drown out his partner. Ellington would make jokes onstage like, "Strayhorn does a lot of the work but I get to take the bows!" Strayhorn composed the band's best known theme, "Take the "A" Train", and a number of other pieces that became part of the bands repertoire. In some cases Strayhorn received attribution for his work such as, "Lotus Blossom", "Chelsea Bridge", and "Rain Check", while other such as "Day Dream" and "Something to Live For", were listed as collaborations with Ellington or in the case of "Satin Doll" and "Sugar Hill Penthouse" were credited to Ellington alone. Strayhorn also arranged many of Ellington's band-within-band recordings and provided harmonic clarity, taste, and polish to Duke's compositions. On the other hand, Ellington ...

I think. (Note tinySpectacle was emailed and approved the text below. Probably because she had just polished off her third bottle of wine. As Lo likes to say, "Its 10am SOMEWHERE!") ABOUT THE AUTHOR: tinySpectacle is a great woman. It is truly an honor to post a video of her new poem the same day she does—even though she was a total brat and sent me a final copy of BONE PEBBLES with towards metaphor as the last line—and then changed it at the last second to, "toward metaphor"—after I had shot my video!!!! She just HAD to take that s out of there just to spite me! A team of my over-priced lawyers will sort out this matter and Im sure she will owe me several cases of bourbon for emotional damages which she has wantonly inflicted on me. That is if I settle out of court. If she wasnt such a damn good poet Id take her to the cleaners! There is a lesson to learned here: One can take the poetry out of a brat, but one cant ...

RARA PANOU EAST ORANGE NJ SOCCER GAME Sunday Oct. 11th 2009 Originating in Haïti, rara is a form of festival music used for street processions, typically during Easter Week. The music centers on a set of cylindrical bamboo trumpets called vaksen (which may also be made of metal pipes), but also features drums, maracas, güiras or güiros (a percussion instrument), and metal bells, as well as sometimes also cylindrical metal trumpets which are made from recycled metal, often coffee cans. The vaksen-s perform repeating patterns in hocket and often strike their instruments rhythmically with a stick while blowing into them. In the modern day, standard trumpets and saxophones may also be used. The genre though predominantly Afro-based has some Taino Amerindian elements to it such as the use of güiros. The songs are always performed in Haitian Kreyòl and typically celebrate the African ancestry of the Afro-Haïtian masses. Vodou is often implemented through the procession. The genre was imported to the Dominican Republic and is now an integral part of the Afro-Dominican music scene, where it is known colloquially as Gaga. In the Dominican Republic, the music is often played by the Afro-Dominican population as a cultural tribute to their African ancestors in the same manner as their counterparts in Haiti. Rara in Haiti is often used for political purposes, with candidates commissioning songs praising them and their campaigns. Rara lyrics also often address difficult issues, such as ...

Although this winds up many Africans and black Americans no end, every DNA study of East Africans shows them to be about 40% Eurasian. European don't look like like Ethiopians because modern humans came from that area-the first humans out of African looked more like Neanderthals then any modern human group. Ethiopians look a bit like Europeans and Arabs becasue they have a lot of Caucasoid ancestry. For some relevant reading check this book link to see wwhat the worlds foremost DNA specialist has to say, page 174. books.google.co.uk I"n summary, the information available on individual groups in Ethiopia and North Africa is fairly limited but sufficient to show that they are all seperate from sub Saharan Africans and that North Africans and East Africans (Ethiopians and Neighbours) are also clearly separate. Estimation of admixture by standard methods has given values of about 60% African and 40% Caucasoid using sub Sharans as African parents and Southwset Asians as Caucasoid parents."
