The reason I posted this vid was cuz there has been a LOT of confusion on how to install a Cyanogen ROM on the G1. Cyanogen is a Donut 1.6 ROM (very similar to stcock) but HEAVILY optimized so that your phone will run as fast as it possible can. =) ***Before flashing ANY ROM for the first time, you're gonna need to wipe, wipe ext and then repair ext.*** When flashing Cyanogen from a DIFFERENT (NON Cyanogen) ROM you have to flash 2 zip files one after the other. (Put both of these on your sd card before starting) The HTC file found here: www.4shared.com And when THAT is done flashing... Then you can flash Cyanogen ROM 4.2.5 found here: n0rp.chemlab.org REMEMBER with Cyanogen's roms you never have to wipe when upgrading from another version of Cyanogen. Simple, right? This is still unsupported." to fix, type: mklabel msdos You should then see: "Warning: The existing disk label on /dev/block/mmcblk0 will be destroyed and all data on this disk will be lost. Do you want to continue? parted: invalid token: msdos" Answer with: y Then it will say: "New disk label type?" Confirm with: msdos To partition the card go into recovery and "enter console" then type all this in: parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 print (to see what EXACT size your sd card is) rm 1 (if you had more than 1 partition already, you would want to "rm" them as well) mkpartfs primary fat32 0 xxxx mkpartfs primary ext2 xxxx yyyy mkpartfs primary linux-swap yyyy zzzz quit upgrade_fs recovery Remember, you're counting backwards from your total "Disk /dev/block/mmcblk0:" size (what you see after you enter "print" For example 8017 total subtract 32 for swap (7985) subtract 512 for ext (7473) the rest will go to fat32. What... the heck is Garudius 95?: It's a fan game, and a damn professional one at that, to the point when I first played it I was convinced it was an actual Konami product. It was created for the Japan only NEC PC98. It can be found at: tiny.cc What's a Recovery Run?: Here's the basic idea: Get to the boss, and then die. Then beat the boss (and.. what parts of the stage it forces me to do.) with the few power-ups you get from the pre-boss checkpoint. The hardest part about the Gradius series is, when you die, especially to one of the bosses, it's extremely difficult to continue. This is what makes the Gradius series amongst the hardest shoot em up's around. I'm giving this great game hopefully a bit more video coverage. Enjoy! As a general rule - the checkpoints in this game are fairly kind, which shows this guy showed some restraint where Konami didn't. XD Boss Notes: Moai Renegade Mk 2: Hm, fairly long checkpoint this one. Thankfully this version of the Moai level is fairly easy to begin with. As you can see - I switched weapon sets for a reason - a bombing raid via spread bombs is a fairly good way to take this guy out when you don't have many options. Big Moai x 5 Interesting. You don't actually have to kill these, but taking out the bottom ones via Spread Bombs makes your life easier. Line your ship up when the top Moai release their little buddies and take them out before they make your life miserable. King Hanaw: Lolwut? Can't say I was expecting this! This thing is fairly hard to hit, as counter to most Moai bosses - you cannot destroy his shots, but his shots DO absorb yours! The best times to damage him is when he's charging (this is the main reason you want to stay on the left side of the screen!) and when he lengthens his.. erm.. neck. When you take out the body - you shouldn't really bother trying to attack it - it times itself out very quickly. I'm not even sure if you CAN destroy the head. Blackhole Nebula: Hey, it's this "boss" out of Nemesis 3! It's annoying. But thankfully not as bad as the rest of the level which has gravity wells AND tight spaces. Just get past it. I don't know if one of these is fake or not, like the original game, but I didn't want to test it. Gusty Core: Heh, this thing's easy! You're pretty much safe if you stick to the middle, just back off when he launches his second attack, and get right in and personal when he extends himself. Boss Rush: Zub Rush: Good old Zub Rush. This thing is probably more likely to kill you off than some of the bosses... On average I can get out 1 Speed Up (all you need in this game), 2 Options, Missiles and Lasers via this. Big Core: Don't get cocky - this is the Vulcan Venture version of Big Core - meaning you can't just sit in front of it all day. Still easy, but at least you have to pay attention now. Tetran: Slow moving, like in most ports. This isn't very difficult this time round - you can take him out very quickly if you're aggressive. Death MK 2: Missile spread is easy to dodge, but he has a new surprise in the form of a spread shot with his laser. Just don't do something stupid and sit in front of it... Misfix (Sic): Move with the boss. You should be fine. Just be wary that his lasers act like your lasers and move with his ship. Zub Rush 2: Er, they fire spread shots now. Lovely. Stay to the back of the screen and your options can deal with them. Fire the odd missile too, pick up power ups AFTER you've cleared them all. By this point I can manage to fully power myself up AND get a shield. Nice. Lizard Core: My lasers kinda blend in with his lasers, making it fairly hard to see where he's shooting. Don't stay in it's line of fire. You should have options by this point, and keep them in front of it. Beecon (Sic): Ok.. he's slightly harder this time. The spread shots combined with a somewhat randomised attack pattern, mean you should kill this ASAP. Don't stay above or below him if you can help it - his blue orbs have a habit of bouncing straight into you. Zub Rush 3: Few more power ups. If you haven't got a shield, this is a good place to get one. :P Master Core: Ok... this isn't an easy boss! His missiles slightly home in to you. If you can survive that, and providing you've kept shooting, he should be almost dead. As a general rule, for his second attack, you want to be above him, as he fires less lasers that way. His THIRD attack.. well.. just don't be in front of him. His first form should die now. His second form, starts off pretty simple, just a basic core laser fire, followed by an attack that fills the screen. Stay in front of his ship, doing the occasional dodge. And keep firing, his wave attack does block your shots but a few might get few. Hopefully he's dead by this point, and that's it for the boss rush. Phew. That was alot of bosses.

In what is clearly an effort to inflict the most pain possible on myself, i've gone and done the insane thing of attempting... a recovery run against Gradius bosses. What's a Recovery Run?: Here's the basic idea: Get to the boss, and then die. Then beat the boss (and.. stage) with the few power-ups you get from the pre-boss checkpoint. The hardest part about the Gradius series is, when you die, especially to one of the bosses, it's extremely difficult to continue. This is what makes the Gradius series amongst the hardest shoot em up's around. I've taken the boss names from the PS2 Manual of Gradius 3 and 4, with other bosses going by other sources. The game is being played on Hard difficulty. Boss Notes and Difficulty in Recovering: Goliath: Stage: What stage? Boss: Easy, if you don't attempt to do something stupid like I did. XP. Being the first boss, Goliath is pretty easy to destroy if you stick to the back of the area. Bubble Eye: Stage: Insane. Those homing buggers in the bubbles will make your life a misery. Boss: Stupidly hard if you don't obtain a Laser. His triple spread of bubbles block standard shots. At Boss 3 I switch weapon sets. The Spread missile makes my life a hell of alot easier. Big Core mkiii Stage: The mini-boss doesn't have much health when you're low on power, but it's pretty damn hard if you don't have the ability to do Splash Damage. Spread shot is pretty good here as it kills them in a few hits, and eliminates the enemy generators in one. Boss: Slaughtered! Wow it's pretty amazing the difference a bit of splash damage makes to this boss. Dogas and Valf: Stage: Kill the enemies before they shoot, not a problem. Boss: Wow this thing's weak when you've got no power ups! The biggest worry are the Moai they shoot from their mouth... but at least this isn't the arcade version. XD Vulture Dragon: Stage: ARRGGGH! This is one of the hardest to recover sections in the game! The only chance is to hope you shoot down the fireballs before they split up into 9 mini-balls of death. Boss: It refuses to die. You also need to make sure you have plenty of room to dodge it's suicide attack. Choking Weed: Stage: Be sure to collect all those power ups. You NEED those speed ups. Boss: It's shots are pretty difficult to dodge when it's sucking you in.. and it doesn't help those shots are fired BEHIND the boss sprite. Beacon: Stage: ARGHAFHACHCAK. Boss: Ahem. This thing dies very quickly if you manage to get a laser and a option. That how-ever, is the hard part. Without power-ups this thing is pretty difficult, because there is no indication when it changes attack patterns. Boss Rush - Zub Rush: Tricky to get the power ups you need. You need to pick up the blue power capsules to even stand a chance. Death mkii: Easy with splash damage. You can bypass it's defenses and do damage directly to the core. Simply be sure to not be in front of the thing when it fires. Crystal Core: Yikes, they improved this guy over the Gradius 2 counterpart! Lasers help big time as you can continue to deal damage directly to the boss even when it covers itself with it's arms. Monarch: Without the Reduce you can't sit in front of it, this makes the laser spread a bit intimidating, but it's easy if you manage to pick up an option. Simply keep moving across the screen and it can't hit you. Covered Core: Splash damage ftw! This is a difficult boss regardless, altough not as big a pain as the original. Hitting the core itself with lasers is the hard part. Dellinger Core: Not the hardest boss ever, but can make you panic the first time you fight it. It's dash attack gives you a bit of a breather. Fortunately this thing is very weak, hit point wise. Just the last stage left.... ulp.

(Sorta like a free Gameshark/Action Replay). There are some known bugs for it though, such as: + Some games that were made in 2005 or earlier won't work with cwcheat on a PSP-2000 (Slim). + Some games will not let you go online and they will crash. + Some games just crash anyway when you're in the middle of playing. And if you can't go into the Recovery Mode Menu, then you dont have CFW. You will need CFW for this to work otherwise it's all gonna be a wasted effort. We get drives like that in every week, where a customer has been told the heads are bad, when they weren't. So just because your drive is clicking, there maybe something more to it, but you won't have the proper equipment needed to verify this or not and neither will a lower end data recovery firm. I've seen a few of the 'what I have lost to my eating disorder' videos. They are all very sad and it's something that I can really relate to. Eating disorders steal so much from you while at the same time deluding you into thinking that they are all you really want in life. I decided to make a video about what I gained in recovery because sometimes I think it's easy to slip into a state of despair when you have an eating disorder and feel like you will never get rid of it. Sometimes it's so hard to maintain the motivation to even *want* to get rid of it. I'm still recovering and I'm not perfect, I slip up now and then.
