SO4J-tvs Martha Mac interviews Pastor & Author Bob dewaay about the Many Unbiblical Beliefs of the Emergent Church. VIDEO IS A PREVIEW OF EMERGENT CHURCH DEFINED - DVD • There is a lot of Confusion about the Emergent Church, and their Beliefs. The Emergent Church avoids: Definitions, Statements of Faith, and Boundaries, as they Embrace Postmodern Thinking and Mystery. • SO4J-TV set out to Find Out: What is the Emergent Church? SO4J-TV Host Martha Mac interviewed Pastor & Author Bob dewaay about the unbiblical beliefs of the Emergent Church, and about his Book "The Emergent Church— Undefining Christianity." • The Purpose of this DVD is to Define as clearly as possible what the Emergent Church Believes, despite all the confusing Postmodern Theology. SO4J-TV came up with it's own Summed Up List of some of the Many Unbiblical Beliefs that are Common in the Emergent Church: • Don't believe in a Future Judgment or a Literal Hell • Don't believe Jesus died on the Cross to Pay for our Sins • Don't believe we can know Absolute Biblical Truth • Believe in Spiritual Experiences more than Scripture • Embrace Mystical Practices not found in God's Word • Beliefs based more on Feelings & Imaginations than the Bible • John 8 31-32 Jesus Says, "You are Truly My Disciples if you remain Faithful to My Teachings. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:13-15 Mysticism attempts to gain ultimate knowledge of God by a direct experience that bypasses the mind. Catholic mysticism, now officially married to the Emerging Church, needs to be reexamined. Old-time mystics such as Loyola, Teresa of Avila, and John of the Cross need to be examined again along with modern so-called evangelical mystics such as Richard Foster. All of this, and more, is accomplished in this professional presentation along with graphic inserts of persons and events. An analysis is also made of Phyllis Tickle who has surfaced as a formidable leader of this toxic movement. The fall from power of Tony Jones, a former leading light of the movement, is also documented. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. More and more mainline Christian churches are taking on these pagan practices from the Emergent Church Movement. Men like Robb Bell, Brian maclaren, Rick Warren/ Father Thomas Keating and many more like them have infiltrated the church. Their teachings are leading many Christians astray thinking that they are getting closer to God.
Have you ever heard an emergent post-modern speak and thought something was just off? Do you get tired of people telling you there is no absolute truth without realizing that their statement would have to be absolutely true? If you walk into a church that's saying things like this, you may have just crossed into... the emergent zone. The Bible actually spoke about the emergent post-modern church at great length. Just look up these terms: "hypocrisy" and "hypocrite". You'll find plenty of verses addressing the subject matter these people are putting forth. This video was originally posted by Doug Eaton. I highly encourage you to visit his page and subscribe. Along with videos like this, he has some wonderfully encouraging ones as well. The Emergent Church: A Dangerous Fad or Solid New Movement? By Jan Markell, Olive Tree Ministries, Inc. www.olivetreeviews.org If you're over age 35, your spiritual health may be at risk in that new "church movements" are focusing in on primarily "genxrs." You may not have even heard of the latest, the "Emergent Church" or "Emerging Church." Many today are looking for a new "methodology," "new wave," or "new thing God is doing." I ask, "What is wrong with the old way?" Apparently just the Bible is no longer sufficient. Some say the "Emergent Church" (EC) is the next step beyond the "seeker movement." Leaders of the EC say they have answers for our generation even though it focuses on experience much more than the Bible. But leaders of the movement insist that in our fast-changing culture, something is happening. What was once a Christian nation with a Judeo-Christian worldview is becoming a post Christian, unchurched, unreached nation. There is arising in our midst new generations without any Christian influence, and thus we must re-think everything we have done with Christianity over many centuries. Part of what they say is true and their evangelistic fervor is genuine no doubt. Defining the EC is a little bit like nailing jello to the wall, but here goes anyway. It relies heavily on mysticism, a great danger to believers of all denominations. Some leaders will tell you that you cannot know truth. An EC service will often meet in homes, and will rely on extra-biblical ...

Who are it's leaders? What outrageous things are they saying? And why are these leaders called "evangelicals"? Since this is the latest fad in the "new way of doing church," you need to be aware of it as it may march in the front door of yours. This is the first segment of a 1 hour show. Host:Ingrid Schlueter Guest:Ken Silva Pastor Ken Silva is with Apprising Ministries. How would you feel if your pastor tried to teach you breathing exercises specific to prayer? What if he told you that your deepest fear is that you are powerful beyond all measure, or that unrepentant homosexuals can still be Christians? These are just a few of the teachings brought to light as Ingrid and Ken look into the philosophies that are shaping the Emergent Church movement, a movement that is just now having an impact upon conservative Christianity. Popular Emergent leader, Pastor Rob Bell of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is the focal point, as recorded sound bites from Rob highlight the early portion of the program.
