Here is our next Road to the Gold challenge match and one that might prove difficult for Magnum TA. As you all know along time ago Magnum TA was the North American champ and he still was in late 1984 but he was also bound for Jim Crockett Promotions and in October 1984 "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd beat Magnum TA to win the North American title. A month later Magnum had one more chance at regaining the North American Championship. He won the match but by DQ, so Ladd retained the title. So he never got a great deal of revenge against the Big Cat. Going into this match Magnum TA could finally get a pin or submission against the Big Cat. However Ernie is as determined to win this match as Magnum because Ernie Ladd was never a World Heavyweight Champion and because of Bret Hart's bounty, he'd be more than happy to ruin Magnum World title dreams just to realize his. So will Magnum win and carry on or will the Big Cat be one step away from being the Big Cheese? Watch and find out. This video is a little overview of the notable personalities and events in the Midwestern United States. It mainly focuses on the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. This was the hot bed of pro-wrestling in the twentieth century from featured matches in Des Moines and Omaha to the TV days shot in Chicago to the period covered here. I also included a feature about football players turned pro-wrestlers, which fit this video well. From college stars to the NFL, many left the ranks of football for pro-wrestling.
