I doubt that I've ever seen a worse movie trailer. The silly voice-over is made even sillier by an annoying echo-chamber effect. There are a few fleeting shots of bare breasts, which - sadly - I had to censor in order to conform with YT's stupid nudity policy. Starring Farley Granger and Sylvia Koscina, whose careers were evidently on the down slide by then. According to IMDb, this movie was an Italian production released in 1972. It went by other titles in the US, such as "Penetration", which was an X-rated version, and "So Sweet So Dead"...obtained from archive.org

Sentenced to 30 days cooling his heels in the Duck Creek cooler for speeding, Manhattan playboy Rick Belrow Livingston (Farley Granger) decides he doesnt like anything about small townsuntil he meets small town girl Cindy Kimbell (Jane Powell). The stars make charming lovers, but the film belongs to Busby Berkeley, whose inspired dance direction guides some of the most famed moments in movie-musical history: Ive Got to Hear That Beat, with Ann Miller whirling her fabulous legs around a floor of disembodied hands playing musical instruments, and human-pogo stick Bobby Vans jaw-dropping, gravity-defying hop through town to the tune of Take Me to Broadway.

It was pretty gutsy for Landau to make such a bold interpretation in the 50's. Not only was he willing to redefine a character as gay, but he even had the guts to play the role himself. That wasn't only bold, but it' took artistic integrity to a new level. Even today, straight actors are often reluctant to play gay characters. North By Northwest is considered one of the great suspense films of all time, garnering an 8.6 (out of 10) rating on imdb.com. It is #30 on their most discussed movies list. www.imdb.com Even gayer is Hitchcock's Rope, which was based on the Leopold & Loeb murder case. Although the two murderers were lovers, no movie made in the 40's could have been explicit about it (for an overtly gay version, see Todd Haiunes' Swoon). Hitchcock instead put all kinds of clues, the most famous of which was Brandon smoking after the murder -- smoking as if he had just had sex. Rope co-starred the handsome Farley Granger, who later came out as gay. Granger also starred in Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train, which again, had lots of gay references. Rope (#215 most discussed; 8.1 rating) www.imdb.com Strangers on a Train (#111 most discussed; 8.3 rating) www.imdb.com Farley Granger bio en.wikipedia.org

Please Watch in HQ. This is a ten-minute, rough, work-in-progress piece of the film "The Singing Teacher" about voice teacher Joan Kobin and her husband Robert Kobin and the revolutionary technique they created. Please bear in mind that this footage is standard def footage shot approx 15 years ago and not great picture quality. It will be "up-res'd" in the post production. in this segment (that doesn't deal with singing at all ;-), Joan Kobin's eccentric style of dress is highlighted. The clip includes interviews with Barbara Cook, Daniel Massey, Donald Pippin, Lorna Luft, Jane Summerhays, Wally Harper, Tovah Feldshuh, Farley Granger and Theresa Saldana. The film is being made by Rick McKay, the producer/director of the "Broadway; The Golden Age" film trilogy. This segment has not been color corrected, conformed, final edited, audio balanced, etc. It is a rough work-in-progress. Sadly, Joan Kobin died on May 30th, 2009, but had finished filming. The film will be released as a part of the DVD release of "Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age" in 2010.
