Savoy was 18 years old when she appeared in the Italian adult magazine Playmen (October 1973), using an alias of "Terry". "Terry", who fled from home at 16, was living in a hippie community in Sicily and soon became an attention of the press. In 1974, her acting career began when film director Alberto Lattuada (who has discovered Federico Fellini and Silvana Mangano) gave her her first role in the film Le farò da padre aka La bambina, playing a mentally retarded girl named Clotilde. Her next film was Private Vices, Public Virtues (Vizi privati, pubbliche virtù) (1975) directed by the Hungarian director Miklós Jancsó. The film told the story of the Crown Prince Rudolf, son of the Austrian-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph and his rebellion against his father. Teresa played the baroness Mary Vetsera, Rudolph's lover, but in Jancso's vision, she appears as a hermaphrodite. In 1975 Savoy met Tinto Brass and they worked together in the successful film Salon Kitty (1976). In the film she played a young BDM girl who becomes a spy posing as a prostitute for the SS. In 1976, Brass was involved in the film Caligula, produced by Bob Guccione, the owner of Penthouse Magazine. Before he turned to Naziploitation and 'Caligula', Tinto Brass made pretty cool films, none cooler than 'Col Cuore In Gola ' ('With Heart In Mouth') from 1967. A sort of psychedelic giallo pop art noir, it goes nowhere but takes a pretty groovy path. Music throughout is by Armando Trovaoili. In this scene watch out for the male dancers in the background, they get odder and jerkier by the second.

This is an attempt to restore one of the more infamous deleted scenes from the 1976 "Caligula." Various different sources were used to piece the scene back to together, as well as putting some pre-existing moments back into sequence, so sorry for the uneven quality. This scene was split in half by the inept editing crew that butchered the film (Macro's death scene was supposed to occur DURING Proculus' challenge) and the latter half was completely deleted when the film got released in US theatres. The scene was quite an important plot point, which would give more depth to the scene which follows it (Caligula sexually humiliating Livia and Proculus during their wedding.)

This is the infamous "Caligula" starring Malcolm McDowell, Peter O Toole, Helen Mirren and John Gielgud. This is from a Beta tape of mine from about 1989. This is from the Vestron 160 minute cut of the film. Many version have been released over the years....usually with the sex and violence removed. This has both. While rewatching the film after all these years...thanks to Youtube I dug out my Beta player which has been in storage since 1991...I dont find it as shocking as it was then. The violence and cruelty which was way over the top for its day is standard fare now for all slasher films. If you take out the couple of graphic sex scenes what you have is another R rated feature. But what is wonderful to see is the acting of Malcom McDowell. His "Caligula" is brillant...equal to John Hurts performance of the Roman tyrant in "I Claudius". And I cant forget Peter O Toole, in his prime as the decadent "Tiberius" and Gore Vidals screenplay.
