Seeman was arrested before he could make public his report of the killing of 561 innocent fishermen from Tamil Nadu by Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), in a press conference in Chennai, the sources added. Seeman said that there is no point in arresting a person who urges Tamil Nadu and Central governments to solve the problems of Tamil Nadu fishermen without attempting to find a just solution, the sources in Chennai further said. The court directed Seeman to be detained in remand prison until 23 July. Seeman, taken to Puzhal prison first, was later transferred to Vealoor jail for reasons unknown. Fifty fishermen from Tamil Nadu were injured when they were attacked allegedly by Sri Lankan Naval (SLN) personnel while fishing off Katchathivu Island, PTI reported Sunday, citing Indian Fisheries department officials. Hundreds of Indian fishermen, and many more Tamil fishermen in Sri Lanka, have been killed or wounded in SLN attacks over several years.

When the 2004 Tsunami hit the coast the river overflowed into the homes. The people live on less than a dollar a day and many waste this on alcoholism. The children live in danger. So Kevin and the SKM church have organised an after school club where many of the children find safety and a chance to concentrate on homework. The mothers can then work. This loving project has so impacted lives that many have come exploring whether the church also has something to say about spiritual things and have discovered the great joy of meeting Jesus and being liberated from their DALIT designation under Hinduism. These are white headed or yellow-billed babblers - Turdoides Affinis - endemic to southern India and Sri Lanka; We have a resident group that keeps pottering around the area most of the day; Very social birds, I have read that they 'beg' from each other from time to time - maybe this is what you see here; Here, they are great pals with squirrels - when you see a whole lot of squirrels on the ground, you'll likely find these birds too - they have common enemies and both raise a loud racket when a potential predator is spotted. However, these birds appear to raise a loud racket for social reasons too.

When I first heard Professor Zaidi on Bul Bul Tarang, the song Oonchi Oonchi duniya ki, It reminded me of my school days 1962-63, where with a small group of orchestra, I uses to touch their musical instruments when they were free. There once I still remember the song: Mera Joota Hai Japani,, which the only one first line I played on this instrument. I was desperately hunting to get this instrument and could not find it available in any music stores at Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Banglore, or Chennai. After a prolonged search I came to know about Mr. Fayaz Ahmed from Mumbai, who is a Banjo Player and also a maker. He took more than a month to make this instument for me. Yesterday Saturday the 19 Sept, I brought this instrument from Mumbai, and today I tried to play and made some clips just for fun as well as for records. If I succeed in playing, it is because of the inspiration from Professor Quasim ji.
