US Senator Sherrod Brown and US Congressman Bob Latta toured several tornado damaged areas Friday, a week after twisters left several Wood County and Fulton County communities in shambles. Sen. Brown and Rep. Latta met with first responders inside Lake Township Fire Station 2 before surveying tornado damage in the Village of Millbury.

Dunwoody city councilor Robert Wittenstein told CBS Atlanta News that DeKalb county's 911 system has had problems for years. "There is nothing more frustrating than calling 911 and hearing a message that you'll have to wait," said Wittenstein. That's why the city council is looking at two proposals, one that would have Dunwoody start its own 911 center, and another where the city would join the ChatComm center in North Fulton county. "Police can be very effective, fire can be very effective, but unless you have an effective dispatch system, all of those are going to get delayed," said Wittenstein. Poor dispatch is what responders blamed for Dunwoody resident Anne Bartlett's death in January. She called 911 to report a fire at her home, but responders said inaccurate information from dispatch caused a communication breakdown that cost her her life. That was just the first of several complaints about DeKalb county 911. Another woman said DeKalb first responders refused to take her 3-year-old asthmatic grandson to the hospital, and a 90-year-old reported that she had to wait 25 minutes after before emergency crews arrived without an ambulance. Dunwoody city manager Warren Hutmacher said the city wanted to start its own 911 system before the complaints but added that, "Anytime you have a drop in service it's a concern to us." They had to many over built cars and could not disqualify all of them so they let every one run. One guy with a under built car did get hurt this year. he had no cross bar and his drivers door bar was too short and he got nailed in the drivers door. Both the Georgia State Patrol and local police agencies took part in the chase. Capt. Jason Bolton with the Henry County Police Department said the tractor-trailer cab was carjacked out of south Fulton County from a Kroger parking lot on Jonesboro Road near the Visual Pak Warehouse. Torrey Lang, a US Express employee who was picking up a delivery from Visual Pak, was at a Metro PCS store in the Kroger shopping center when he saw the suspect stealing his truck. Lang ran out of the store and apparently tried to stop the suspect before jumping onto the outside of the truck. A Metro PCS employee said, "I thought I saw (Lang) bang on the door and the truck just kept on driving off." During the chase, Lang could be seen hanging on to the outside of the rig. The difference: All of the deputies Kimbrough fired were on probation, and many had criminal records... Clayton County Sheriff's Deputy Edward M. Hobbs, a former Fulton County sheriffs deputy, said he got into a fight with his ex-wife and was ordered to complete counseling. Hobbs said he completed his sentence and the case was closed. The Fulton County Fire Department in Georgia, sent out pre-layoff letters... informing more than three dozen firemen and women the possibility that they may lose their jobs. But according to county leaders... not all 45 firefighters would lose their jobs. And that the reason for the staff cuts is due to the reduction in duties. Fire Department Spokesman Greg Chambers said that the county plan to mail out termination notices next Tuesday and that cuts will based on skills and seniority. The county currently employs an estimated 165 firefighters in 13 stations.

Severe storms, bringing lightning, winds and possible tornadoes, cut a wide swath of damage across Michiana late Monday. Shortly after 6 am, there remained 1638 customers without power in hard-hit LaPorte County, with another 812 reported in St. Joseph County, according to the Indiana-Michigan Power Web site. The storm spawned damage and a possible tornado in Griffith in Lake County, though Indiana State Police at the Lowell post said that remained unconfirmed by the National Weather Service. Closer to Michiana, however, the NWS Web site reported a fatality in LaPorte County. One person was believed dead after a tree limb fell on a vehicle in the Michiana Shores area. But county authorities said further information was not yet available as a second round of severe weather moved into LaPorte and Starke counties shortly after 1:15 am St. Joseph County dispatchers said there were two reports of funnel clouds at the height of Monday night's storms. One was reported near Lydick at Indiana 2 and Quince Road, and another was reported at Indiana 331 and Pierce Road. Authorities said crews were still trying to clear part of Indiana 4 near Walnut Road early Tuesday after a tree fell across the roadway. South Bend crews also reported a tree down across Marine Street and traffic lights out at Olive and Sample streets, as well as other locations with wires and limbs felled by the winds, while Mishawaka officials reported no storm-related problems. DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, PA -- Robert Fulton Fire company along with Quarryville and Rawlinsville Fire Companies were dispatched Sunday afternoon to a building fire. Fire reported in Drumore Township at intersection of Route 272, Lancaster Pike and Spring Valley Road. Deputy 5-13, Rob Samples reported heavy smoke from a few miles out and arrived to find a shed/kennel fire to the rear of the property along Spring Valley Road. Deputy 5-13 limited the assignement to Robert fulton and Quarryville and Rawlinsville were recalled. Robert Fulton pulled two preconnect hand lines and quickly extuinguished the fire. WWW.PUMPFIRE.COM FULTON TOWNSHIP, PA -- During the early morning hours of December 19th, BOX 513 was transmitted for the reported barn fire in the area of Pilottown Road and Rigby Road Lane. Company 513 along with units from Cecil & Harford Counties were alerted as part of the first alarm assignment with LCWC getting multiple calls of a working barn fire. Chief 513 was the first chief officer to arrive reporting a large barn well off and taking the 513 command. Moments after his report to communications, Command 513 transmitted the 2nd Alarm Assignment bringing in Add'l Units from Lancaster, Chester & Cecil counties. All hand were working for about 2 1/2 Hours to bring the blaze under contorl. The large barn, which held hay and other farm equipment was a complete loss. The fire was placed under investigation by PSP Fire Marshals, Which deemed the fire arson. This fire along with two other barn fires and a brush fire since October 2007 were confessed to be set by a Fireman from Robert Fulton Fire Company.
