CCEL eGreen instructor Mark Roberts explains when to use first conditional grammar and when to use second conditional.
September 23, 1976 Jimmy Carter: www.amazon.com Gerald Ford: www.amazon.com Democratic nominee and former Georgia governor Jimmy Carter campaigned as an outsider and reformer, gaining support from voters dismayed by the Watergate scandal and Nixon pardon. After the Democratic National Convention, he held a huge 33-point lead over Ford in the polls. However, as the campaign continued, the race tightened, and, by election day, the polls showed the race as too close to call. There were three main events in the fall campaign. Most importantly, Carter repeated a promise of a "blanket pardon" for Christian and other religious refugees and other opponents of the Vietnam War draft dodgers (Ford had only issued a conditional amnesty) in response to a question on the subject posed by a reporter during the presidential debates, an act which froze Ford's poll numbers in Ohio, Wisconsin, Hawaii, and Mississippi. (Ford had needed only to shift 11000 votes in two of those four states in order to win.) Americans viewed the pardon as an essential moral act and as the true end to a bitterly hated war. It was the first act signed by Carter, on January 20, 1977. Earlier, Playboy magazine had published a controversial interview with Carter; in the interview Carter admitted to having "lusted in my heart" for women other than his wife, which cut into his support among women and evangelical Christians. Also, on September 24, Ford performed well in what was the first televised presidential debate ...

This is the Global Aid Network video on the trips that GAiN takes specifically to the country of Guatemala. For more info go to GAiNusa.org Background: The Mayan civilization flourished in Guatemala and surrounding regions during the first millennium AD After almost three centuries as a Spanish colony, Guatemala won its independence in 1821. During the second half of the 20th century, it experienced a variety of military and civilian governments, as well as a 36-year guerrilla war. In 1996, the government signed a peace agreement formally ending the conflict, which had left more than 100000 people dead and had created, by some estimates, some 1 million refugees. Economy - overview: Guatemala is the most populous of the Central American countries with a GDP per capita roughly one-half that of the average for Latin America and the Caribbean. The agricultural sector accounts for nearly 15% of GDP and half of the labor force; key agricultural exports include coffee, sugar, and bananas. The 1996 peace accords, which ended 36 years of civil war, removed a major obstacle to foreign investment, and since then Guatemala has pursued important reforms and macroeconomic stabilization. The Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) entered into force in July 2006 spurring increased investment and diversification of exports, with the largest increases in ethanol and non-traditional agricultural exports. While CAFTA has helped improve the investment climate, concerns over security ...
A month or so ago Nitzan finally started her first few tentative steps. However at some point, she just decided that the whole "walking" fad just wasn't for her. Luckily for us, she has outgrown her prejudice, and has decided to give walking a second conditional try. As you can see, she does insist on some cheerleading throughout.

BOSTON (AP)—Ray Allens(notes) blocked shot certainly stuck out, especially in a game that featured very little defense. Rajon Rondo(notes) scored 15 points and had 16 assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a 110-106 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night in a matchup of teams that traded with each other last week. Allen, who led the Celtics with 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting, made his biggest play on the defensive end, something that even surprised Boston coach Doc Rivers. That was unexpected, Rivers said jokingly, but that was great. With Boston clinging to a 109-106 lead in the closing minute and Wilson Chandler(notes) cutting in for what appeared to be an easy layup, Allen leaped from behind and knocked the ball out of bounds as the shot clock expired. Chandler came and went to the hole, Allen said. At least I was going to foul him, but I got up there high enough to make a play on the ball. Playing a Knicks team that usually relies on trying to outscore their opponent, Rivers knew the Celtics would have plenty of easy shots. I told them we knew we were going to score, scoring was not going to be an issue tonight, Rivers said. Its nice to have that luxury we did, but we know who we are. Kevin Garnett(notes) scored 16 points, Marquis Daniels(notes) 14 and Kendrick Perkins(notes) 12 as Boston sent New York to its eighth straight loss. The Celtics were without forward Paul Pierce(notes), who was home with the flu. Rivers said Pierce wouldnt have played anyway due ...
LOS ANGELES (AP)—Ray Allen(notes) scored 12 of his 24 points in the third quarter and made 10 of his first 11 shots, leading the Boston Celtics to an 87-86 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. It was the defending NBA champions first loss in five games since Kobe Bryant(notes) went down with a sprained left ankle. Kendrick Perkins(notes) had 13 points and 14 assists, Kevin Garnett(notes) had 13 points and eight boards and Rajon Rondo(notes) added 14 points and 11 assists for the Celtics, who were busy before gametime. They acquired guard Nate Robinson(notes) and Marcus Landry(notes) from the New York Knicks in exchange for Eddie House(notes), JR Giddens(notes), Bill Walker(notes) and a future conditional second-round pick. Pau Gasol(notes) scored 22 points, and Lamar Odom(notes) had 13 points and 14 rebounds for Los Angeles.
We all know that our own EGOs will destroy any loving relationship. "I'm right, they are wrong!" "They need to change their ways!" A poor context/position to come from. What causes us to be that way?... because of our subconscious mindsets/blueprints conditioned or programmed by our parents, teachers, peers, etc. Here's the deal, if you're conscious you won't be blaming them, because you're NOW aware of it! Take OWNERSHIP. According to Paul Chek a renowned teacher, presenter, healer, spiritual guide and author (I do recommend you buy his book "How to Eat Move and be Healthy", 2004) There are four stages that most people must go through. These are 'Sex and violence loving', 'Conditional loving', 'Empathy and Compassion loving', and 'Unconditional loving'. LOVE is actually a positive code and when you or I 'get' there, or reach that moment we place ourselves in total bliss. I do find words limiting to explain this... And when people come into contact with us, depending on our vibrations (we are all spiritual beings having a Human experience) our emitted light levels from within we will either attract or repel people. Naturally that will depend on their level of LOVE for self first and then others second, thirdly would be our LOVE for ALL. My Q,s Are you aware when you are 'at' any of the above stages? Are you being of service to SELF and others? You see, you can't give what you haven't got, you can't fix your Toyota Prius car any better than you can anyone else's, you can ...
In this tutorial, we will cover the conditional operators. They are used in in math equations and also to make decisions in If Statements. This tutorial also covers many questions I have been getting about checking if a textbox is filled or not. Please watch the second part that covers Logical Operators. Óra 1 Hungarian is an agglutinative language it uses a number of different affixes, including suffixes, prefixes and a circumfix to define the meaning or the grammatical function. Instead of prepositions, which are common in English, Hungarian uses only postpositions. There are two types of article in Hungarian: definite: a before words beginning with consonants and az before vowels (in a phonological sense, behaving just like the indefinite article a(n) in English) indefinite: egy, literally one. Nouns have as many as eighteen cases. Of these, some are grammatical, eg the unmarked nominative (for example, az alma the apple), and the accusative marked with the suffix t (az almát). The latter is used when the noun in question is used as the object of a verb. Hungarian does not have a genitive case (the dative case is used instead), and numerous English prepositions are equivalent not to an affix, but to a postposition, as in az alma mellett next to the apple. Plurals are formed using the suffix k (az almák the apples). Adjectives precede nouns, eg a piros alma the red apple. They have three degrees, including base (piros red), comparative (pirosabb redder), and superlative (legpirosabb reddest). If the noun takes the plural or a case, the adjective, used attributively, does not agree with it: a piros almák the red apples. However, when the adjective is used in a predicative sense, it must agree with the noun: az almák pirosak the apples are red. Adjectives also take cases ...

Protecting double-digit leads has been especially maddening for the Philadelphia 76ers this season. This time, they just got mad. Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand scored 18 points each, Allen Iverson added 16 and the 76ers snapped a four-game home losing streak with a 96-92 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night. "We were a little angry and I thought it helped us," said Brand, who fouled out. "We played with a purpose in the fourth quarter. I think this win will give us a nice boost of confidence." Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams added 12 points each and Samuel Dalembert had six points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for the Sixers, who had lost nine of 10 at home. Dalembert had 12 rebounds in the first quarter, the most in one quarter by a Philadelphia player since the Wachovia Center opened for the 1996-97 season. "Sam's been playing pretty well pretty much all season," Philadelphia coach Eddie Jordan said. "We're happy about the things he's giving us. It just seems like he's getting more and more aggressive each game." Dalembert entered the game tied for fourth in the league in blocked shots (2.17) with Atlanta's Josh Smith. "I'm confident in my teammates, so I just go out there and give everything," Dalembert said. Emeka Okafor had 20 points and 11 rebounds, David West added 13 points and 13 rebounds and Chris Paul had 13 points and 14 assists for the Hornets, whose season-best six-game winning streak was snapped. New Orleans lost on the road for the first ...
Balkan Wars Second Balkan War Though the Balkan allies had fought together against the common enemy, that was not enough to overcome their mutual rivalries. The Second Balkan War broke out on 16 June 1913 when Bulgaria attacked its erstwhile allies in the First Balkan War, Serbia and Greece, while Montenegro, Romania and the Ottoman Empire intervened later against Bulgaria. When the Greek army entered Thessaloniki in the First Balkan War ahead of the Bulgarian 7th division by only a day, they were asked to allow a Bulgarian battalion to enter the city. Greece accepted in exchange for allowing a Greek unit to enter the city of Serres. The Bulgarian unit that entered Thessaloniki turned out to be a brigade instead of a battalion and caused concern among the Greeks, who viewed it as an attempt to establish a condominium over the city. Due to the urgently needed reinforcements in the Thracian front, Bulgarian Headquarter agreed to remove it (along with the Greek unit from Serres) by mutual treaty and was transported to Dedeağaç (modern Alexandroupolis), but it left behind a battalion which soon became a regiment starting fortifying its positions. Greece had also allowed the Bulgarians to control the stretch of the Thessaloniki-Constantinople railroad that lay in Greek-occupied territory, since Bulgaria controlled the largest part of this railroad towards Thrace. In confirmation to the Greek concerns, Bulgaria not satisfied with the territory it controlled in Macedonia, asked ...

10 clips of lyrics in four different conditional tenses (zero, first, second and third). Suitable for Intermediate+ level Download this video at www.savevid.com or www.sendspace.com The songs are arranged in order to vary era, style and grammatical content. Lesson plan 1 Give students the first half of each conditional and in pairs or groups get them to predict the second part. Help them with vocabulary and form and encourage them to be creative! If I never had a cent... If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe... If my true love he was gone.... If I get locked up tonight... If I can't have you If you go... If you don't know me by now.... If I knew you were coming.... If I were a boy... If you leave me now... Go over the predictions in open class and correct any errors. Then play the video and compare their answers to the real ones. An optional extra before watching the video could be to give them some of the artists names and get them to match them to their predictions. They probably won't know all of them so it would be best to get them to guess which one belongs to just a few of them: Frank Sinatra (clue: cent-American currency), Eminem (clue: going to prison), Beyoncee (they'll all know that one). Or get them to match their predictions to a genres: rap, pop, rock, swing, dance and country. chance of 1 in 5 to guess exactly one card out of the two is simply wrong. for the reasoning see my comments in the comments section of the original video... say the symbols are 1,2,3,4,5: then if order does not matter, there are 10 combis: 12, 13, 14, 15, 23, 24, 25, 34, 35, 45, to get both right is 1/10 chance then, now each symbol figures in exactly 4 of the 10 combis, so you have 6/10 chance of getting the first wrong and then a 2/4 chance of getting the second symbol right (or wrong) (because two rights and two wrongs are still in the other four symbols left), so the chance of getting first wrong and the second right (or none right) is 6/10*2/4 = 3/10, the probability of first being right and then wrong is 4/10*3/4 (only one more correct symbol is among the four symbols left) = 3/10. We add and have 6/10=3/5. if order is important, we have 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 23, 24, 25, 31, 32, 34, 35, 41, 42, 43, 45, 51, 52, 53, 54; so as randi correctly says, to get both right, you have 1/20 chance, now you see that for each place you start with you have a 4/20 chance that a given symbol is in that place, so you have a chance of 16/20 to get the first guess wrong. the chance of getting just one out of the 2 cards right, is 3/10. i can use symmetry reason here: consider first guessing right and then wrong: 4/20*3/4=3/20 (there is no controversy here as the first symbol was right, and so exactly 1 of other four must be in), now because of symm. getting the 1st wrong and 2nd right ...
The Orono High School team of Tommy Good, Kelvin Hanson, Andrew Lautner and Gavan Winkels took home first place in the experimental class at the 17th annual Solar Boat Regatta was held May 16 at Lake Phalen in St. Paul. Lautner was new to the team this year, but the other three were members of the OMS team that won first place in the student class competition last year with their original boat, Helga. Places are determined by combining scores from three races: speed, maneuverability and endurance. To gain the victory the team - with its new boat Helga 2.0 - needed to defeat three-time champion Javier Montesario, and his boat Horizon Runner. This year, the original Helga was guided by a team of eighth-graders Luke Gilmer, Schuyler Luetmer and Graham McKee, as well as seventh-grader Jake Lanie. OMS - the only middle school at the competition - placed second to Roosevelt High School of Minneapolis in the student class. On the agenda: Long Lake Planning Commission The Long Lake Planning Commission will meet tonight at 6:30 pm The commission has no planning cases in front of it tonight, but it will look at a couple of items for future reference. First will be a discussion about the annual Conditional Use Permit compliance report. Barring something unforeseen, the only other thing the commission will discuss is various green technologies' relationship to the cities' current zoning ordinance report.

HQ: www.youtube.com Overclocked Remix: 'Last Chance' by OA (ReMix of 'Battle #2') ocremix --- www.ocremix.org ^ Link to music info and download ^ 'Last Chance' by OA ReMix of 'Battle #2' So, M7 was epic. Video footage will eventually trickle out from Jamspace, and we recorded our own panel and also conducted some ReMixer interviews, but one definite highlight for me was Shael and I participating in a "Game Audio Industry Professionals" panel with Jake, Tommy, Howard, Grant, and others. Yeah, neither Shael and I are truly in the game audio industry, or particularly professional even, but we talked about HD Remix and the whole thing, for the relative few who caught it, was rather win. There was also the OCR panel, which was an amalgam of new and old, with a mini HDR tourney that pitted audience vs. HD Remixer, and a sneak preview of Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption, a new OCR '09 album that's looking very hot. Spearheading said album is none other than OA, who's also wrapping up the site design for Summoning of Spirits, which DOES exist and should be seeing the light of day in Q1 '09, safely preempting Duke Nukem Forever (but not Chinese Democracy). Basically, 2009 is our tenth anniversary, and it's seriously looking like it'll be the best year yet for OC ReMix, and one of the key folks making that so is Mr. Luers, so I thought it fitting to kick off the year with a mix of his. This is actually the third time in two years he's submitted this Lufia ...

Today, December 5, 2008 Chrysler announced it has hired a law firm experienced in bankruptcy. --- Yesterday I opened my e-mail and found a news brief that claimed that 61% of the population is against what the press calls a bail-out of the car makers. I tried to analyze why so many are against what generally is accepted as a CONDITIONAL bail-out, I use the term reluctantly. I came up with three main reasons: Frustration, Misinformation, and Emotions. --- If there is one thing I have learned in my professional life it is that Emotion perpetually interferes with analysis. --- In todays blog I am going to discuss three points: (1) the true cost of no bail-out, (2) the combined causes of car makers failure and (3) the patent situation as one of them. Before I do, please, give me eleven seconds to explain my background. As MBA and MSEE I am foremost an analyst. I have consulted companies on a global scale, that is in Japan, Central Europe and the United States, mostly in matters of innovation and corporate reorganization. I was a consultant to General Motors Opel Division in Ruesselsheim, to Mercedes Benz in Stuttgart- Untertuerkheim, and Honeywells Automotive Division in California. Now to point one, the true cost of a non-bail-out. According to the Center for Automotive Research, as quoted by CNN-Money, a non-bail-out would result in 2.5 million workers being laid off that receive unemployment benefits. The New York Times reported that GM workers were paid $70 per hour. That ...

Milwaukee Bucks (19962003) Allen was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth pick of the 1996 NBA Draft. Immediately after his selection, Allen and Andrew Lang were traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for the rights to fourth pick Stephon Marbury. Allen was a member of the NBA's All-Rookie 2nd Team in 1996. His most successful season with the Bucks occurred during the 2000-01 season as he won the 3-point shootout during All-Star Weekend, was selected to the All-NBA Third Team, and led the Bucks, as part of Milwaukee's "Big Three", alongside Sam Cassell and Glenn Robinson, to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost in seven games to the Philadelphia 76ers.[5] Seattle Super Sonics (20032007) Allen remained with the Bucks midway through the 2002-03 season, when he was dealt to the Sonics, along with Ronald Murray, former UConn teammate Kevin Ollie, and a conditional first round draft pick, in exchange for Gary Payton and Desmond Mason. After an injury-riddled 2003-04 season, he was named to the All-NBA 2nd Team and, alongside teammate Rashard Lewis, led the Sonics to the Conference Semifinals in 2005. After the 2004-05 season, Allen signed a 5-year, $80 million contract extension. In the 2006-07 regular season, he averaged a career-high 26.4 points per game while adding 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. During his Seattle tenure, Allen achieved many ...
Part one: www.youtube.com First, I did in fact misquote him. I said he said that atheist do not believe in god He actually said that atheism is the belief that god does not exist. I did not follow his advice to take my video down because 1) if I was wrong, I would rather just own up to it and 2) I still maintain that there is no difference in the content of the two statements. "I do not believe in the existence of god" is equivalent to the statement "I believe in the non-existence of god". I have not changed the logical content of the first statement with the second. Compare "I believe in the nonexistence of god" "I believe that god does not exist" At 4:23 HO said "when you say that god does not exist, you are not making that claim at all, you are not saying that I do not believe in god". *Face Palm* one would be simply contradicting themselves to affirm that they believe God does not exist AND that they believe that God DOES exist. Despite the fact that it SOUNDS more definitive, the statement "I BELIEVE God does not exist" is ALSO conditional, and open for revision. If you say that you do not believe in Santa Claus, the you are saying hat according to your appraisal of the world (aka what you take to be true, aka what you believe) Santa Claus does not exist. Or in other words, you believe that Santa Claus does not exist. Agnosticism is not a philosophical position that regards belief, it regards knowledge. John McCain Town Hall Meeting Miami, FL TRANSCRIPT: JOHN MCCAIN: "Senator Obama filled out a questionnaire a few years ago basically advocating lifting the embargo on Cuba. Now he's saying it has to be conditional. What those conditions are is very non-specific. But he continues to state his desire and mission to sit down and negotiate with some of the most despotic and cruel dictators in the world. The President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, who said that Israel is a stinking corpse and is sending lethal explosive devises into Iraq from Iran and is killing young Americans, and is acquiring Nuclear weapons. Senator Obama wants to sit down with that person unconditionally face to face. My friends, the first thing that does is enhances Ahmadinejad's prestige in the region. Second thing is what are they going to talk about, the destruction of Israel? And third of all they will obviously cause more difficulties for us in our efforts in Iraq. [...] Roosevelt didn't talk with Hitler; Reagan didn't talk to Brezhnev or his two successors until Gorbachev was clearly ready to change his position. Reagan didn't do what Jimmy Carter did. Jimmy Carter went over and kissed Brezhnev. [...] It's dangerous. It's dangerous to America's national security to sit down and give respect and prestige to leaders of countries that are bent on your destruction or the destruction of other countries. I won't do it my friends. [...]" LABEL: JM FL 5-20 (JR#57) SBC-ClipH To download a high res version of this ...
An atheist for Jesus. transcript: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Good idea. "If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire." Bad idea. Both were spoken by the same man, Jesus. How can one distinguish which is good and which is bad? Jesus's first statement is self-evident. It is a valuable instruction that can apply to everyone and which can help people live their lives in harmony and fulfillment. Jesus's second statement is not self-evident. In fact, if he is not divine, and if hell doesn't exist, it is a terrible idea. If you were to find out that Jesus was neither God nor his son, you would reject the second idea, but hopefully you would still accept the first maxim, the "Golden Rule." Yet, many Christians seem ready to reject all of Jesus's teachings should Jesus be found to be a mere human. CS Lewis famously classified Jesus as either God, a devil, or a lunatic. Basically, if Jesus is not God, then his ideas are worthless. This sort of attitude not only breeds an irrational obsession with maintaining that the Bible is infallible, but it also shows an absolute disrespect for Jesus and his ideas. This type of Christian does not truly believe that Jesus's ideas have any merit. Such Christians merely believe them because they believe he's God, and that following his teachings will get them to heaven ...

For a complete lesson on probability of dependent events, go to www.yourteacher.com - 1000+ online math lessons featuring a personal math teacher inside every lesson! In this lesson, students learn that two events are dependent if the outcome of the first event affects the outcome of the second event. For example, taking a block out of a jar, then taking a second block out of a jar. And the probability of dependent events can be found by multiplying the probability of the first event times the probability of the second event. For example, if there are 4 blue blocks and 4 yellow blocks in a jar, the probability of taking a blue block out of the jar then a yellow block out of the jar is 4 times 4/7, or 16/56, which reduces to 2/7. The reason that the probability of taking a yellow block out of the jar is 4/7 rather than 4/8 is that a blue block has already been taken out, so there are only 7 blocks left in the jar.
