nearspacephotographer.blogspot.com This is first flight of the NSP. Payload consists of a gps tracker, micro video camera, insulating enclosure, carbon fiber landing gear, recovery chute, and radar reflector. Balloon is a 300g latex weather balloon with a burst altitude of ~70000ft. Camera battery life is a little over 1 hour so there is no descent video. Also, due to extreme weather conditions payload stability was nonexistent. Be prepared for a bumpy flight. For more information on the NSP project and if you would like to make a donation to future flights and equipment please visit the NSP blog at: nearspacephotographer.blogspot.com Still photos are posted on the blog Thank you, Jeffrey Wilschke

After a few issues with the tail set-up the new Tarot 500 finally got into the air. Nice gentle hover to look at blade tracking and general trim. Needs a bit of tweaking here and there but happy on the whole, tracking is a bit out. A couple of times in the video a distinct step change can be heard in the rotor/motor noise. This is the video camera and NOT the heli! For someone only used to 450's this is a big, bad, noisy beast of a thing.......it's great !
: ( Something was not programed correctly. We were just going to bring it up to check the tracking and hover characteristics. Damage was remarkably minimal. Just the landing gear and tail rotor blades. And yes, I did that amature camera thing where the camera drops as something goes wrong. : (
Program Overview : The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is a game changer in how the Navy will conduct battle management command and control. By serving as the "digital quarterback" to sweep ahead of strike, manage the mission, and keep our net-centric carrier battle groups out of harms way, the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is the key to advancing the mission, no matter what it may be. The E-2D gives the warfighter expanded battlespace awareness, especially in the area of information operations delivering battle management, theater air and missile defense, and multiple sensor fusion capabilities in an airborne system. With a two-generation leap in radar sensor capability and a robust network enabled capability, the Advanced Hawkeye will deliver critical, actionable data to joint forces and first responders. These advances provide warfighters with the necessary situational awareness to compress the time between initial awareness and active engagement. First Flight August 2007 : In August 2003, Northrop Grumman and Team Hawkeye committed to delivering Delta One, the first system development and demonstration (SD&D) aircraft and on August 3, 2007, it delivered on that promise conducting its successful first flight. Advanced Hawkeye is the cornerstone of the US Navy's theater air and missile defense architecture in the littorals, overland, and open sea. E-2D's initial operational test and evaluation is on-track for 2011. Some of the many new features of the Advanced Hawkeye are : •A completely ...
First real flight with the Kalt Baron 30, its a bit unsteady and still needs gyro setting up properly, along with blade tracking and another 1000 little jobs but at least it is in the air now! Also need to improve my flight skills!
My 450 size five blade rotor head (no artificial stabilisation just 15% expo) first flight tracking test
First hover of my new Century Hawk Pro. Powered by an OS 37sz-H. This was the first time the motor was run so is pretty rich for break-in. It started easily and idled reliably right out of the box. No cyclic or tail rotor trim was needed. Tracking of the blades was perfect. Guess the hours of tweaking it on the bench were worth it! I haven't flown a Heli since the late '80s or early '90s. At that time I flew a Kyosho Concept 30. It's nice to see that flying a helicopter is a lot like riding a bike. I did a couple of weeks of RealFlight simulator practice before getting back out there with a real chopper. Turned out to be a non-event for a first flight. The Hawk is more stable in fight then the simulator.
My first proper CSS movie. Starring ReflexLSD, featuring some of his best kills over a week. Sub to his channel; www.youtube.com Originally it was just going to be a very quick edit but I got a bit carried away lol. As always, all 3D models and graphics etc were created from scratch. In case youre wondering,"G6" apparently refers to a Gulfstream G650 jet. Unfortuately some of the demos were a bit laggy and werent on SourceTV servers. Plus some config commands didnt work properly on the new version of CSS ugh! My first flight with the 500 at Tempelhof Airport Berlin. I am just trying to find the best setup. 2 x 3S 2200mAh 25C with glass fiber rotor blades. Gyro HobbyKing 401B + DS520. I did not try aerobatics so far, however, for the price it is a good gyro. The cheap glass fiber blades are out of tracking, but with the carbon it flies much better...
This is the maiden flight of the first Titan T-Rex 450 SE V2 Clone I imported, with just some adjustments on the tracking. She flew perfectly under my friends control whom I asked to fly it, to give me an honest opinon and help me set her up. This my own heli now and I am still practising, havent got the guts or skill to throw into idle up yet! But getting there! Look for crabby1118 on e-bay uk for this model for sale
Short vid of me testing the blade tracking on my HK-450GT that I'm building.
This is the first flight of my Super Stearman, I recently purchased it used for a local hobbyist. Sorry about the video tracking quality, the cameraman is still in training :P (thanks Jr...). This plane is running a Zenoah 26cc engine.
My first flight in an open park, I have new pitch and throttle settings so the bird is not as sensitive, wow I feel like I can fly her without thinking if I twitch the stick she'll end up on the moon....and landing is a bit more of a breeze...yaya!!
The Grumman S-2 Tracker (previously S2F) was the first purpose-built, single airframe anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft to enter service with the US Navy. Grumman's design (model G-89) was for a large high-wing monoplane with twin Wright Cyclone radial engines. Both the two prototypes XS2F-1 and 15 production aircraft, S2F-1 were ordered at the same time, on 30 June 1950. First flight was 4 December 1952, and production aircraft entered service, with VS-26, in February 1954. Follow-on versions included the WF Tracer and TF Trader, which became the E-1 Tracer and C-1 Trader in the tri-service designation standardization of 1962. The S-2 carried the nickname "Stoof" (S-two-F) throughout its military career; and the E-1 Tracer variant with the large overhead radome was called the "stoof with a roof." Grumman produced 1185 Trackers. Another 99 aircraft carrying the CS2F designation were manufactured in Canada under license by de Havilland Canada. US-built versions of the Tracker were sold to various nations, including Australia, Japan and Taiwan.
Actually, really the second flight--I didn't record the first. This is flying without using any external sensing, though our VICON motion capture system is tracking the position of the flyer. Control is manual, using a joystick. There is a small camera aboard and live video was being streamed to the ground station over wifi.
First flight of NexStar EP with camera mounted pan & tilt servos tracking my head movements. Video streams live from the plan to a headset giving a "first-person-view" of the plane in flight.
UNDATED FILE VIDEO of the unmanned aerial vehicle Fire Scout aboard USS McInerney (FFG 8). The Fire Scout VTUAV system is comprised of up to three MQ-8B Fire Scout air vehicles, ground control stations, and associated control handling and support equipment. The VTUAV system will provide a significant improvement to organic surveillance capability. With vehicle endurance greater than five hours, a VTUAV system will be capable of twelve continuous hours of operations providing coverage 110 nautical miles from the launch site. The air vehicle is capable of providing UHF/VHF voice communications relay and has a baseline payload that includes electro-optical/infrared sensors and a laser designator that enables the system to find tactical targets, track and designate targets, accurately provide targeting data to strike platforms and perform battle damage assessment. The air vehicle component of the VTUAV system was designated the MQ-8B to reflect the Fire Scouts evolution toward an increased, multi-functional role. Some of the notable improvements include increased power, fuel, and payload capacity. The MQ-8B completed first flight in December 2006. When operational, Fire Scout will provide critical situational awareness, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting data to the forward deployed warfighter. The vehicle is based on the Schweizer Aircraft model 330 helicopter. (US Navy video/Released)

First flight of my T-Rex 600 after taking over 12 months to put together it finally flew! Need to sort the blade tracking out and then its ready for round 2.
This was the first flight with the airframe and the fuselage together. This will be the 7th helicopter I've built to date since I started flying helicopters back in March 2008. The first XMB-7 flight was done without any electronic stabilization and without tracking the blades so the tail had some vibrations. Those were gone after I tracked the blades. The 500 size machine is a lot easier to handle than the 450 was when un-stabilized but when I am done with it I will be using something like an SK-360 or Mini-V-bar. Makes it more enjoyable to fly.
First flight with HoneyBee V2 after adjusting blade tracking and trims. As you can see there is not much space to play on so i will not fly this in my living room anymore. You can also se im struggeling in the start because of the turbulence the heli creates.
This is the actual first flight of my new Head Hunter framed Hurricane 550. It's just hovering so I could check tracking, pitch, cyclic, and motor power. There is no canopy on this frame, yet. The motor is a TonicX Z30A 1100.
Took the Super Cub LP out tonight for it's maiden flight. Since it was getting close to dark, I only was flying for 10 or so minutes and was able to bring the plane home in tact after 3 mostly controlled landings. The wife did an admirable job tracking the plane with he video camera.
First flight using homebuilt Free Track IR motion tracking. I still need to smooth the settings and get it dialed in just a little better, but all in all, it works pretty good! This was with a 3 LED headset clip setup. The movements are mine, not the view system wandering. I just wanted to show the movement so far. All in all, so far so good! Total investment: $20.00 (not counting the web cam which I already had) Scenery created with REX and Ultimate Terrain X
Flight Test 09-13-2009. First flight with the Red Plane with the CloudCap TASE Gimbal. Target tracking was not utilized because the flight was intended to check vibration dampening and as you can see, there are none! This flight shows our new Heads Up Display (HOD) with an artificial horizon plus Picture-in-Picture (PiP) between the HUD and the gimbal view. At about 2:00 the gimbal is deployed.
So I had my first crash!! Took it off from the grass a couple of times and on the third time the left skid got caught at the rear and it flipped on its side(note: Use a landing platform if on grass!!!). I had to replace the tail boom, blades, feathering shaft and horizontal fin holder. Only cost about £8 all together as got free blades with it. This is my first flight after repair. Put some training gear on too!! I am going to a model RC show on the 13/09/09 so please check back for more videos. Rate and subscribe.
Raytheon animation showing the US Army's Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor (JLENS) system deploying radar-carrying aerostats to provide over-the-horizon detection and tracking of low-fying cruise missiles. The tethered aerostat platform manufactured by TCOM, made its first flight on 25 August 2009.

My first flight with the new EzOSD + Ez Antenna tracker. Everything works great so now its time to go fare away. The Radio TX are modified JR with 500 mW + 7 W booster UHF tx reaching 10-15 km. Videolink 500 mW 2,4 Ghz. www.fpvflying.com
Video footage captured from the color analog gimbal camera onboard the Prioria Maveric UAV. The footage is of the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (FMARS) from a height of 275 feet and was obtained during the first flight of the system on Devon Island, conducted on July 11, 2009.
This is the first hover after putting this bird together! The GY401 gyro worked awesome in HH mode, without any tuning! The tracking was a bit off and you can see that in the video. This was a great first flight, and even ventured into the windy yard, after setting the tracking!!!
Blade CP Pro 2, first flight right out of the box, 100% stock...I only did the pre flight adjustments, tracking and pitch. Using the stock HP6DSM radio. Anyone who has ever flown an original CP Pro right out of the box should appreciate this video! What an improvement over the original!!
First flight with my trex 450 , tried a quick idle up and got scared :-)
The Grumman S-2 Tracker (previously S2F) was the first purpose-built, single airframe anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft to enter service with the US Navy. The S-2 Tracker is a carrier-based antisubmarine search and attack aircraft It was one of the first aircraft designed to combine the detection equipment and armament to hunt and destroy submarines while operating from aircraft carriers. The first flight of the prototype S-2 was 4 December 1952, and production deliveries started in 1953. A total of 1342 aircraft were eventually built in 16 configurations. The major configurations included the S-2 Tracker, the C-1 Trader, and the E-1B Tracer. Testing of the various versions and configurations of the aircraft continued here at Patuxent River from the early 1950's through the early 1970's.
Boring first flight with entire trimming routine.
Trex 250 Stock Super Combo, First Flight, adjusting gyro gain, Expo, D/R, pitch, throt, curves, tracking and things. While setting up it lead to my first 250 Crash - and the cost to repair... That is if I could get the parts to repair it...
An Iran Air Cargo Airbus A300 taking off Basel. First flight !!! Runway 15 in use
WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY or its blurry ! My first flight with the 500. Lots to still tweak with it, for one I saw the tracking was off and the curves need to be reconfigured also I noticed... But other than that it did very well. a very stable heli compared to my Trex 450...
