This video begins with FSU's two point conversion attempt, while trailing 26-25 with 42 seconds remaining. Post game comments from Bowden and Johnson. BTW, when Michael Irvin stops flatfooted at game's end while running toward the Miami fans in celebration, it's because of a German Shepherd police dog that was held loosely and reacted swiftly and aggressively toward Irvin as he approached. The dog doesn't show up on the tape and wasn't mentioned by Musberger or Haden, but that's what happened.
Creative language from former Canes fullback Alonzo Highsmith to begin the video, congratulating Steve Walsh on the sideline. I love the genius commentary from Pat Haden and Brent Musberger, preferring an FSU punt on 4th and 8 while trailing 26-19 with a minute and a half remaining and one time out. Let's see, best case scenario would be receive the return punt with perhaps 20 seconds left. Yeah, that's favorable. The video ends with FSU debating whether to kick the point or try for two. It's not often remembered that Bowden had planned to go for the tie, and emphasized it to Musberger a day earlier, before changing his mind due to player pressure and the performance of his kicker.
Jacory Harris and The Miami Hurricanes go into Tampa and bulldoze the Bulls of South Florida to finish the season 4-0 against in-state opponents and end all the talk about The "Big Three" in Florida becoming the "Big Four". Miami 38 - Florida State 34, Miami 48 - FAMU 16, Miami 27 - UCF 7, Miami 31 - USF 10. Miami has HANDLED USF both times that they've met, combined score: 58-17.

tinyurl.com The Florida State and Miami football rivalry is back if just for a thrilling Labor Day night after the Hurricanes rallied to a 38-34 victory that went down to the game's very last play. The Hurricanes stymied six Seminole tries from within the 10-yard line, punctuated by an incomplete pass as time expired, to secure victory. It was simply the best game of a great, sometimes controversial opening weekend of college football. The fourth quarter was a see-saw of excitement, the teams ...

A very exciting football game that came down to the last play, but Miami held on for the victory after Florida State's last pass fell incomplete. One wouldn't think there'd be too many highlights from the Miami Hurricanes 2008 season... especially after a 7-6 season. That said, this video is a peek into Miami's future. Besides great clips of the Canes' superstar freshmen tearing it up, you also get some insight to head coach Randy Shannon. Many say the Canes leader is too quiet and stoic, but this pre and post game footage shows a very animated Randy Shannon, motivating his team and showing he knows what it takes to make things tick at The U.
