Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is attempting to end the long-standing practice of forcing retirees into Medicare. Currently, if a retiree refuses to participate in government-run (and going bankrupt soon) Medicare they are denied Social Security benefits, even if they had paid hundreds of thousands of dollars into that program during a lifetime (and can pay for their health care in other ways).
