These shots are probably from 2003-2005, early stages of construction, the 1st segment shows most of the East bound lanes are still entact, including some areas unmolested from Jackhammers. A full view of how small the Freeway was, with no Shoulder (breakdown lane) for troubled vehicles to go but the median (grass/ landscape) and the fulltime your riding next to a concrete barrier on your left side (passing lane). 2nd segment will show the Creation and Demolition of the Beltway 8 interchange, both at the same time, while Jackhammers destroy the old interchange flyovers, Cranes are installing the frame Flyovers of the new interchange. These upclose shots taken of the skeleton frame and foundation of the old and new flyovers (5 level stack) interchange. The debris all around consist of rebar, electrical wires, conduit, concrete, Bolts Nuts, Metal etc. as well as heavy machinery like Jackhammers, Excavators, Slipform pavers, Bulldozers, Cranes, Debris Haulers, Concret Mixers. So.... precise planning maps were used to detour traffic away from unsafe environments of falling debris and keep traffic flowing. Also nightly lane closures of the I-10 Freeway/ BW 8 Interchange where consistant due to finishing the demolition of the old and reconstruction of the new redesigned flyovers.....all contractors had to finish by a certain time frame by contract of TXDOT or faced a $20000 a day penalty (fine)......WOW!
