To donate money or volunteer to help: www1.networkforgood.org In memory of three who devoted their lives to teaching others about the beauty, the vulnerability, and the true value of the oceans and the earth. Frere Jacques, dormez-vous? There beneath the warm and blue, Can you see your fallen friends, Eve and Adam once again. In the garden like before, All we needed, that and more. All was ours beneath the sky, And still we had to fly. Trading wheels and shiny things, For oceans full of fins and wings. We shut the gates of paradise Behind ourselves once more. Frere Jacques, come again, Through the waves and through the wind. We have lost your vision, friend. We have lost our way. Oh Phillipe, will you ride Upon Calypso, by his side? Are you sleeping, brother John, until a better day? Sister dolphin, brother whale, In darkening waters gasp and fail. But all the well-oiled wheels still turn. Will we never learn? In the garden like before, All we needed, that and more. All was ours beneath the sky, And still we had to fly.

By Raffi from The Corner Grocery Store.
I have just had a new friend subscribe to my videos and as he is French and I have only uploaded one song with some French words, namely Plaisir D'amour, I thought I might try another experiment and sing a duet with myself in French. Apologies for any mispronunciations but I have not used French orally since my schooldays. As well as being for HOBOSEAN, I also dedicate it to Roselyne18 another friend from France. An English translation of the lyrics is:- Brother Jack, brother Jack, Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Ring the morning bells! Ring the morning bells! Ding, dang, dong. Ding, dang, dong.

I did one helluva improvisation (dare I say so myself) on this tune some years ago here in Orlando based on an improvisation that I heard Pierre Cochereau perform on the same tune at Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center NYC) on the Aeolian-Skinner that was in that hall that later became part of the Crystal Cathedral Organ. Cochereau's performance was stunning of course and it left quite the impression on me for 30 years. Here I tried to duplicate what I had done already some years ago. It's on cassette, so if I'm ever able to transfer it to CD, I'll upload it.
This is my own arrangement of the canon for 8 clarinets: 3x Eb Clarinet, 4x Bb Clarinet and one Bass Clarinet. I made it because one time, I tried to sing it with some friends in major, minor and dorian and I really enjoyed it =D The bass clarinet part is recorded with my Bb clarinet (and lowered for one octave) as I couldn't find a bass clarinet. Hope you enjoy! =) If you want the sheet music for this piece just send me a message with your email address and I'll send it to you =)
