August 5, 2010 Lebanon PA: Faced with a court ordered reassessment, Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz fielded a question from WLBR reporter Gordon Weis about 21st Century completing the reassessment. Litz said the difference between some other counties and Lebanon is that Lebanon both hired 21st Century to perform a turnkey operation, meaning they will be involved in every aspect of the work--gathering data door-to-door, researching comparable sales, assigning assessment values, and preliminary hearings--, as well as the County auditing parcels as work progresses. Further, Litz stated that the school property tax should be eliminated by a Consitutional amendment allowing a graduated income tax. Too many people are losing their homes because they can't afford to pay the taxes, and too many young couples are unable to purchase a home because of school taxes. Finally, no matter what company is hired to complete a reassessment, there will be adjustments that will need to be made. 21st Century is a PA Company and came in at the lowest price. The next closest company was $750000 more. Commissioners are trying to follow a court order and be frugal with taxpayer dollars.

Mono Lake, according to Mark Twain, was a "lifeless, treeless, hideous desert... the loneliest place on earth." For more than a century Mono Lake was undervalued- its starkness masked its complex ecosytems- until it was nearly at risk of drying up. Today, it serves as an example of beauty in bareness.
I dedicate this song to the special someone that have been with me since a long time ago. You taught me to be frugal. you taught me to love my parents. you taught me to treasure life and the people around me. you were with me when I was the happiest and you didnt leave me despite me wanting to leave you for so many times. Thank you for the love and care that you have showered. I admitted that I did not treasure you when I was with you. I just want to let you know that I will always be here for you. Even if I couldnt be a partner, I would always stay by your side in illness or joy to support you through. I know that perhaps saying this is a little late or perhaps I have said it so much to keep you that it has lost its meaning. But I still do love you. Even if you were to come back now and say "lets get back together", I would welcome you with open arms. But I know its not possible. I guess I am okay. I will keep to our promise and watch over you secretly. May you find the happiness that you deserve. robo, i love you.
Album "The Low End Theory" 1991 A Tribe Called Quest is an American hip hop group, formed in 1985. It was composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip (later changed to Kamaal Ibn John Fareed, in the mid-1990's, on conversion to Islam), rapper Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), and DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A fourth member, rapper Jarobi White, left the group after their first album. They formed at school in Manhattan, New York, where they started out as part of the Native Tongues Posse, with Queen Latifah and the Jungle Brothers, and were given their name by Afrika Baby Bambaataa of the Jungle Brothers. Following their August 1989 debut, "Description Of A Fool", they had a hit with "Bonita Applebum" a year later, which was apparently based on a real person from their school. Their biggest success came the following year with the laid-back "Can I Kick It?", typical of their refined jazz/hip-hop cross-match. A UK Top 20 single, it was later used extensively in television advertisements. Q-Tip also appeared on Deee-Lite's August 1990 hit, "Groove Is In The Heart". As members of the Native Tongues Posse they were promoters of the Afrocentricity movement, which set out to make US Africans aware of their heritage, a theme emphasized in the group's music. While their debut, "People's Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm", was more eclectic, and even self-consciously jokey, "The Low-End Theory" (recorded as a trio following the departure of Jarobi) saw them return to their roots with a more ...
Google I/O 2010 - Making smart & scalable Wave robots Wave 201 David Byttow, Marcel Prasetya A smart robot must be able to store persistent data. Wave robots can store data in wave structures, like wavelets, datadocs, and annotations, instead of traditional datastores. A scalable robot must perform operations with minimal bandwidth. Wave robots can optimize by selecting the appropriate amount of context, the optimal events, and narrow filters for events. In this talk, we'll share best practices on data storage and scaling. In Queen Elizabeth I's time, English began to expand to even greater depths. Overseas trade brought new words from France, as well as the now popular swearwords "fokkinge," (fucking) "krappe," (crap) and "bugger" from Dutch, in the 16th century. Sailors also brought all kinds of produce like apricots, bananas, limes, yams, cocoa, potatoes, port wine from Spain and Portugal, chocolate and tomatoes from France as well words from 50 other languages including "coffee," "magazine," and "alcohol" from Arabic countries. "The decade on either side of the year 1600 saw thousands of Latin words come into the English vocabulary of educated people, words like 'excavate,' 'horrid,' 'radius,' 'cautionary,' 'pathetic,' 'pungent,' 'frugal' [...]," states Bragg in this episode. The Inkhorn Controversy, a debate about the English language and where its new words should come from, soon followed. A few scholars, including John Cheke, wished that the language should not use Latin or Greek words to expand the English vocabulary, but rather Anglo-Saxon ones. English eventually obtained its own dictionary. Eight years before Italian and 35 years before French. However, this is a huge difference from the Arabic dictionary, which was made 800 years before and the Sanskrit, which was created nearly 1000 years before the English. By their very definition, champions tend to possess certain special qualities. Chelsea's credentials have been questioned but their case includes one watertight argument. They are the specialists on the major occasions. Previous winners have been more frugal in defence, less liable to lose leads or games, or able to marry excellence in England with continental conquests. Chelsea have simply beaten each of their rivals. Twice.

Although Chris Matthews kept interrupting Ron Paul and changing the subject every time Paul responded to one of Matthews' Straw Man arguments, this was a nice interview. It is obvious that Matthews has a great deal of respect for Paul's consistency, even if he doesn't quite agree with him on all the issues.

The ao dai (áo dài) is a Vietnamese national costume primarily for women. In its current form, it is a tight-fitting silk dress worn over pantaloons. Áo dài is pronounced /ˈáʊ ˈjàɪ/ (ow yai) in the South, and /ˈáʊ ˈzàɪ/ (ow zai) in the North. Áo is derived from a Middle Chinese word meaning "padded coat" (襖).[1] In modern Vietnamese, áo refers to an item of clothing that covers from the neck down. Dài means "long."[1] In Vietnamese, the word áo dài was applied to various garments historically, including the áo ngũ thân, a 19th century aristocratic gown influenced by Manchu Chinese fashions. Inspired by Paris fashions, Hanoi artist Nguyễn Cát Tường redesigned the áo ngũ thân as a dress in 1930.[2] In the 1950s, Saigon designers tightened the fit to produce the version worn by Vietnamese women today.[2] The dress was extremely popular in South Vietnam in the 1960s and early 1970s. The communists, who have ruled Vietnam since 1975, disapproved of the dress and favored frugal, androgynous styles.[3] In the 1990s, the ao dai regained popularity.[3] The equivalent garment for men, called an áo gấm ("brocade robe"), is also worn on occasion, such as during Tet, at weddings or death anniversaries. Today however, the áo gấm is most frequently worn by old men. Academic commentary on the ao dai emphasizes the way the dress ties feminine beauty to Vietnamese nationalism, especially in the form of "Miss Ao Dai" pageants, popular both among overseas Vietnamese and in Vietnam itself.[4 ...

A 10-episode video program entitled "Estudyantipid," a coined word combining two Filipino words, "estudyante" meaning student and "tipid" meaning to save or to be frugal. It is an advocacy for financial education among high school students aiming to raise their level of awareness on the benefits of saving money. "EStudayntipid" is the brainchild of Dan Layug (son of Knowledge Channel Foundation founder) and his classmates when they graduated from high school .

Cheap may not be such a dirty word these days. Weber takes both a personal and historical view of American frugality, from Benjamin Franklin to John Maynard Keynes. The author also recollects her father's conservative spending philosophies and expounds on an examination of social programs, alternative movements and mainstream institutions and offers tips for traveling the world on a tight budget. See her profiled in the New York Times for more info: frugaltraveler.blogs.nytimes.com This event took place on October 6, 2009 in Google's Mountain View, CA office, as part of the Authors@Google series.
Question: I'm an accountant with a lot of clients that are choosing to be 'frugal'. Despite my pleas, some of them haven't updated their trust deeds for over 10 years. They tell me it's too expensive. I've read that Bamford's case allows trustees to determine their income, along with all sorts of other goodies. I want to help my clients make the most of their trusts. I'm pretty sure those old trust deeds (and maybe some of the new ones) won't allow my clients to get their hands in the candy jar. Some ammunition, please.

Hi, I'm Jeff. I'm here to show you how to effectively clean your shoes in a most frugal manner ever with just products around the house. Well, what I brought with me is a water bottle with about a tablespoon of detergent, non-bleach, of course, in case it gets on your canvas and stuff like that. You dont want to bleach it. A pencil with a clean eraser. Ill show you how to use this later, but its a very effective tool on cleaning vulcanized shoes. An old tooth brush, try to not use the one you have, in case, you know, you want to brush your teeth later brushing it with dirt and mud and stuff. A cloth, always effective too. Good for pretty much just wiping and smearing stuff. Some paper towels to pick-up the excess moisture. I brought a couple pairs of shoes with me today varying levels of dirtiness on the soles. This one, Ive worn about probably like, 30 times. Its pretty dirty, but still pretty clean. These half cabs, too. Ive actually worn these a couple times, but its kind of getting there, I would say like, medium kind of dirty. So, what we have here is the vulcanized sole, fairly dirty on the sides. Well, because the way I drive, its fairly dirty on the back break heel right here. So for the eraser, since these are rubber soles and rubber against rubber, rubber eraser, will cause friction and actually take off stains and dirt. Well, not just stains, but more, dirt off of the sole. So, you see this whiter spot here, as opposed to dirtier spots. Its a very effective way ...

Agatha St. Clair performs a selection from Joyce's Ulysses Ba. What is that flying about? Swallow? Bat probably. Thinks I'm a tree, so blind. Have birds no smell? Metempsychosis. They believed you could be changed into a tree from grief. Weeping willow. Ba. There he goes. Funny little beggar. Wonder where he lives. Belfry up there. Very likely. Hanging by his heels in the odour of sanctity. Bell scared him out, I suppose. Mass seems to be over. Could hear them all at it. Pray for us. And pray for us. And pray for us. Good idea the repetition. Same thing with ads. Buy from us. And buy from us. Yes, theres the light in the priests house. Their frugal meal. Remember about the mistake in the valuation when I was in Thoms. Twentyeight it is. Two houses they have. Gabriel Conroys brother is curate. Ba. Again. Wonder why they come out at night like mice. Theyre a mixed breed. Birds are like hopping mice. What frightens them, light or noise? Better sit still. All instinct like the bird in drouth got water out of the end of a jar by throwing in pebbles. Like a little man in a cloak he is with tiny hands. Weeny bones. Almost see them shimmering, kind of a bluey white. Colours depend on the light you see. Stare the sun for example like the eagle then look at a shoe see a blotch blob yellowish. Test Drive Episode 2, Nissan Rogue SL, In this episode of Test Drive, Crystal stays in the Nissan family and gives you a look at the Nissan Rogue SL, take a look and let us know what you think. This is what Edmunds thinks: The 2009 Nissan Rogue is pleasant. You look at it — pleasant. You drive it — pleasant. Here's a little crossover SUV that isn't really outstanding in any area, yet seldom disappoints. Instead, the Rogue does most things well enough that it adds up to a very pleasant total. While it lacks the utility and passenger space of some competitors, this handsomely dressed Nissan compensates with its athletic character, relatively frugal fuel consumption and avant-garde style. In particular, the Rogue fits the bill for young professionals who like the idea of sitting up high, but still want something stylish and fuel-efficient. Ditto parents of one or two small children who aren't ready to drive a stereotypical "mom mobile," yet are attracted to the added space and sense of security an SUV provides. Other points in the Rogue's favor include its attractively simple interior controls, which are easy to use even though they're connected to some of the latest gadgets and gizmos. The continuously variable transmission (CVT) rewards those who go easy on the throttle with seamless acceleration and good fuel economy, though heavy throttle applications cause the engine to drone like an unhappy cow. The electric-assist steering couldn't be easier to turn in parking lots ...
