The Pittsburgh Penguins defeat the Detroit Redwings in the seventh game of the series, 2-1 on two goals by Max Talbot. Strong game by Fleury and Osgood. Crosby injured. Malkin conn smythe.
They said "thank you very much for Hossa" They said we couldn't come back from an 0-2 series. They said they were not the same as the Washington Captials. They said we couldn't take 4 of 5 from the Wings. They said we couldn't win once Datsyuk was back. They said Fleury couldn't be a winning goalie. They said we couldn't win in Detroit. ...They said we wouldn't make the playoffs. .......They said we couldn't get a new arena. All I have to say to that is: YES! WE! DID!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!! 2009 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!!!! Talbot would have already gone down in Penguins history as a legend for his Game 5 goal last year. With two goals in this game for the Cup, what is better than a legend? A SUPERSTAR?!!!! This is part 1, the gameplay part of the epic game 7. Part 2 will include the handshakes and the celebrations. I will make a video response.

Sucks to have the game decided on a questionable penalty call but the Wings didn't show up in the third anyway..only 3 shots? Weird. Crosby hasn't really shown up yet. Lucky for him Malkin did tonight. Nice 3 assist game. If Crosby can find a way to overcome Zetterberg's checking we just may have a 7 game series. Pens got the breaks this game..on to game four.

Intro to Game 7 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals between the Calgary Flames and the Tampa Bay Lightning. I'm mostly posting this because it would be the last NHL action for a while, as there would be none the coming October. This is the 1st Stanley Cup Final since I've been a fan where I wouldn't have minded seeing either team win. A good friend of mine is a Flames fan and I would've been glad to see them win for his sake. But Dave Andreychuk is one of my favorite NHL'ers who had been ...
