Up next in NJ's video series is this funky tune; this is also the first for which I composed parts when I began working on the album. I had Dennis Chambers on the brain (well... more than usual, hehe) throughout said process of this song in particular, and the brief intro I wrote might be a decent reflection of this notion. For the choruses/B sections, I traded off of the crash cymbals to complement the progression. I'm riding on the 13" hats during the bridge to give it some brightness/energy. At 2:50, I began to match some of the acoustic 'stabs'. The first accent occurs on the china since there's more sustain, and the second is on the stack because it's quicker. The unison lick at 3:54 is a result of something that I heard Nick play on his initial demos. He told me if there was anything that I really dug he'd keep it, since he frequently improvises. Crazy - I've experienced a lesser sense of collaboration in bands and this was a session! Haha. Anyway, I told him he'd have to keep that run and I complemented it as best as I could. Palin's publisher is suing for copyright infringement after the site posted images and text from the book." Gawker originally posted excerpts from the book, which included 14 partial images of pages along with some snarky commentary. When Palin first raised concerns via Twitter, Gawker referred her to the Fair Use Wikipedia page. But a writer for the conservative blog, The Other McCain, asks whether Gawker needed to read those pages themselves. "Your first clue '14 images of partial pages.' To quote or paraphrase a book -- even without authorization, five days prior to the book's release date — yeah, you might get away with that. But publishing page-scans online? See you in court, buddy." A writer for the Los Angeles Times questions why the publisher filed the lawsuit in the first place. "What harm was there in bringing Palin's pages to light last week? The book is not in draft form -- in fact, it's completely finished and will be in bookstores on Tuesday.
