Jim Caldwell made a controversial decision to pull Peyton Manning and the Colts main starters in their Week 16 contest vs. the Jets after Indy had a 15-10 and Peyton was having another Peyton-esque game. Curtis Painter came in and the picture wasn't exactly the Mona Lisa. The Jets would win 29-15 and are now in position to make the playoffs with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17. Normally, I'm a proponent of resting your starters in time of the playoffs for reasons of keeping your team healthy for the postseason. But the only time the Colts didn't rest their starters was in 2006-07. Of course that was the year they won the Super Bowl. Every other time the Colts went into Sorgi-mode late--It bit them in the ass come playoff time. And they have a real big problem this year--it's about 2000 miles away from Indy in Southern California. And the New York Giants. *Sigh*. 41-9? That's how you end your history in Giants stadium. This team was lucky the schedule wasn't a little tougher and they didn't go 6-10. The only playoff team they played early was Dallas. After that they got exposed. And did Eli Manning get exposed as well? Is he really elite without an elite receiver? One thing's for sure--Sheridan has GOT TO GO. My first Sony Vegas vid! With Rex Ryan previously being the Defensive Co-ordinator of last seasons AFC runners up Baltimore Ravens, who have one of the best defenses in the league along side their group rivals Pittsburgh Steelers, who beat Ravens in the AFC Final and went on to win the Superbowl for the NFl record 6 times.
