Dean Martin Live - The Dean Martin Show - Gina Lollobrigida & Dean Talk About Love & Baseball The Dean Martin Show was a TV variety-comedy series that ran from 1965 to 1974, for 245 episodes. It was broadcast by NBC and hosted by crooner Dean Martin. The theme song to the series was his 1964 hit "Everybody Loves Somebody." Gina Lollobrigida (born 4 July 1927) is an Italian actress and photojournalist. She was one of Italy's most prominent actresses of the 1950s and early 1960s. Today, she remains an active supporter of Italian and Italian American causes, particularly the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF). In 2008, she received the NIAF Lifetime Achievement Award at the Foundation's Anniversary Gala. Born Luigina Lollobrigida in Subiaco, Italy, she was one of four daughters of a furniture manufacturer (her sisters are Giuliana, Maria and Fernanda). She spent her youth in a picturesque mountain village. In her youth, Gina did some modelling, and from there she went to participate successfully in several beauty contests. At around this time, she began appearing in Italian language films. In 1947, Gina entered the Miss Italia pageant and came in 3rd place. The contest was won by Lucia Bosé and second place was Gianna Maria Canale -- they would both go on to be actresses, though neither would come near Lollobrigida's success. Dean Martin (June 7, 1917 -- December 25, 1995) was an American singer, film actor and comedian. Martin's hit singles included "Memories Are ...

Here is a beautiful song about Roma sung by the beautiful Gina Lollobrigida herself. Born Luigina Lollobrigida in 1927 in Subiaco, Italy, Gina Lollobrigida is one of the most famous, beautiful and talented Italian actresses. In her youth, Gina did some modeling, and from there she went to participate successfully in several beauty contests. At around this time, she began acting. Her appearance in Italian films brought her to the attention of Hollywood and she made her first American film, "Beat the Devil", in 1953. As her popularity increased, Lollobrigida earned the nickname "The World's Most Beautiful Woman" after her signature 1955 movie. She made another notable appearance in "Trapeze" with Burt Lancaster in 1956 and starred in "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" the same year. In 1959 she co-starred in Frank Sinatra's "Never So Few" and in 1961 made one of her most popular films, "Come September", with Rock Hudson. She co-starred with him again in 1965's "Strange Bedfellows" and appeared alongside Alec Guinness in 1966's "Hotel Paradiso". In 1968 she starred in the enjoyable "Buona Sera, Mrs Campbell" with Shelley Winters and Telly Savalas. By this time she had embarked on what was to turn out to be a successful career as a photographic journalist. She photographed, among others, Paul Newman, Salvador Dalí and scooped the world's press by obtaining an exclusive interview with Fidel Castro. In 1973 a collection of her work was published, "Italia Mia". Still focusing on ...
If you're looking for titillation this will be disappointing. Gina Lollobrigida as Sheba is all you'll get. But you might be interested to learn that there's a vegetable named after her. He refers to the "Song of Solomon" from the Bible which has been taken as Solomon's declaration of love for the Queen of Sheba. In the Song she continues to deflect his advances - a familiar situation to Yeats because that was the pattern with his love for Maud Gonne. There's no real reason to believe that the Song of Solomon refers to Sheba because, for one thing, she wasn't a "Daughter of Jerusalem." In fact there's no historical reason to think that Solomon and Sheba ever had such a relationship - but that doesn't make a good story. It's pedantic, as he says. The Ethiopians claim that their emperors were directly descended from a union between Solomon and Sheba. Yeats talked about the "perpetual virginity of his soul". In this poem he ruefully accepts that he's not going to find love in this lifetime. The rhyme falls into abcb quatrains but, oddly, there's a line missing. This might have just been an oversight, it seems that it was so in the printed version. Incidentally the word "smithy" is often misunderstood because people remember Longfellow's poem: "Beneath the spreading chestnut tree The village smithy stands..." A smithy isn't a man, it's a forge, the place where the smith works. The picture of Gina Lollobrigida as Sheba is a promotional still for "Solomon and Sheba" 1959 ...
