Gina Bellman (born July 10 1966) is an English actress. <p>Bellman was born in New Zealand to Jewish parents of Russian and Polish origin, who emigrated to New Zealand from England in the 1950s. Her family moved back to England when she was 11 years old. After a two-episode stint in Grange Hill in 1984, she became a household name for her performance in the title role in Dennis Potter's drama Blackeyes. A role which included her appearing topless in various scenes throughout the drama. The series caused much controversy at the time. Some critics stating that it was a sordid and exploitative piece of TV drama, whilst others acclaimed it as a work of genius from Potter. The publicity generated, certainly brought Miss Bellman to the nation's attention, and was a springboard to her future acting career.
