Have you been in a Goodwill Store or Salvation Army Store Lately? Well if you decide to go be sure and take to bank with you. Those place have forgotten all about helping low income families out by having great prices on items in their stores. If you want to fine a good deal stay away from these places and go to a Thrift Store. Thrift stores or by far lower than both of them on most things. We need to let Goodwill and Salvation Army Store know we are unhappy with the high prices on things they get for free.

Tax season isn't for a few months, but there is still time before the New Year to get some last-minute tax deductions. Employees at Goodwill donation centers have been busier than ever. Tracey Hargrove makes it an annual tradition to clean house at Christmas time and drop off unwanted items."Mainly we're making room for new toys that maybe Santa is bringing to our house," said Hargrove.The holidays do spur generosity, but the approaching tax season is another reason for the boost. "This is our very busiest time of year when everyone is rushing to get their donations into Goodwill because they want to get their end of year tax receipts," said Suzanne Kay-Pittman with Goodwill. When donating, there are a few things Goodwill said you should keep in mind. "What we would like folks to do is itemize their donations, so that when they bring it to us, they're not going through each piece and counting them," Kay-Pittman told News 2. The donations not only benefit the donor, but also Goodwill stores and other shoppers. All donations must be made by December 31 to get a write-off to count toward your 2009 taxes.

the local Goodwill thrift stores' unisex bathroom. the toilet appears to be a late 80's Wellworth that is poorly installed (its installed pointing to the left instead of pointing straight). Unlike the note says, i did NOT hold the handle down but it flushed normally. the urinal appears to be from the mid 90's and uses a brand of flushometer that i have never heard of before...forget the name, it was something weird though.

Goodwills retail store in Madison will close in October. The stores lease is up for renewal, but due to declining sales at the location, senior management determined it was in the companys best interest to shutter the store. The store, located at 820 Gallatin Road, will close for good on Saturday, October 24. Shoppers will find great bargains at the store throughout October. Beginning Saturday, October 3, which is the company-wide 50 percent off sale, and until the store closes, all items in the Madison store will sell for 50 percent off their retail price. Goodwill donors and shoppers in the Madison area still have two nearby stores where they can donate and shop. The Rivergate store, located at 2101 Gallatin Pike North and the East Nashville store at 613 Gallatin Road, both offer the convenience of shopping and donating onsite. The Rivergate location also houses a Career Solutions office which provides free job search services. Goodwill currently operates 32 retail stores and an outlet store throughout the middle and west Tennessee communities we serve. When the Madison store closes, the company will manage 31 stores plus the outlet and 63 donation sites.
