Gretsch Tv Jones has no followers yet. Be the first one to follow.
The Electromatic 5120 is Gretsch's most popular guitar. Mainly due to the affordable price tag and it's striking good looks. However, the stock pickups in the 5120 don't truly deliver that "Great Gretsch Sound". TV Jones to the rescue. Here Tom shows how to make the 5120 sound like the more expensive professional series Gretsch guitars by installing a set of TV Classic pickups in the English Mount.

www.kingbeeguitars.com A new King Bee has arrived! This one has a big fat and round maple neck, and TV Jones Filter Tron pickups. It's got a hot version in the bridge, and classic in the neck position. Very groovy guitar. Feels like and old friend, and has a unique tone.
2004 model, in a rather rare Tenessean finish. TV Jones Powertron, Sperzels, '59 trestle bracing. Here, I play it with my Vox AC15HTV head, thru a pair of Celestion Heritage Greenback in a Marshall 1966A cab.
Here's some documentation of my Pro Jet modification. I changed the Bigsby Licensed B-50 to a Bigsby (Gretsch Logo) B-3, swapped the mini humbuckers to TV Jones Classic (neck) & Classic Plus (bridge) & replaced the stock tuners with Sperzel "Lockers". Had a few challenges.... but overall this was a fun project with desirable outcome. Put about $500.00 into a $500.00 guitar.... now it's probably worth $550.00.... ha ha

I salvaged this vintage Gretsch and wired it up with some nice TV JONES Supertrons. Phase reverse and series/parallel switching like a Jimmy Page Les Paul. Enjoy the demo. Please understand that it was recorded with the tiny mic built into the camera and might sound bright because of this. The amp was a Deluxe Reverb set clean. No pedals. All the pots maxed out for the best representation of the pickups possible.
my first try. i'm just getting used to the guitar cause it plays slightly different to my gibson sg. i played it through a marshall dsl 2000 today and it sounded just great. i love the feedback. this tone is created with guitar rig.
This may be one of my Best Sounding Gretsches Yet! I just put in the Bar Bridge, along with The Bigbsy B3 Tremelo Unit and it exceeding my wildest Expectations! :)

Finger picking on my budget Gretsch. The camera "eats" most of the great Fender sound, but its good enough for one happy amateur that enjoys his hobby. Enjoy :-)
Dirty little Sunday morning demo, warts and all, by request. Showing off the Gretsch Brian Setzer Hot Rod with TV Jones Classics through a Carr Rambler. Hard to get a good image of the tone at the low volume necessary for the video camera but it's a taste. Delay is a Guyatone MD3 -- very inexpensive but I really like it.
This is a quick video of me messing around on my new Gretsch. Amp is a Fender Deluxe with JJ tubes. The first song is a little sloppy. Feel free to leave your hate mail.

Me screwing around with my Gretsch G5120 which I modded with TV Classic pickups. Riffs are from the The Living End for the most part, as well as just general screwing around. The audio didn't come out as well as I had hoped... But oh well..
