President Obama said Friday at a nationally televised news conference that economic progress has been "painfully slow," but investments in business, education and technology will help make America more competitive in the global economy. "While the economy is growing again...the hole in the recession left was huge and progress has been painfully slow," he said. The president touted a series of proposed tax credits and programs to let businesses write off investments in 2011, along with a six-year plan to rebuild roads, railways and airport runways, and put people in the construction industry back to work.

FREEDOMLINK BLOG RADIO www.blogtalkradio.com www.aussurvivalist.com It's called Air Stripping Air stripping is the industrial process used to remove oil and other chemicals from water. When air is blown through water, the oil and chemicals will evaporate from the surface of the water. In the industrial process, the evaporated chemicals can be captured. In the Gulf of Mexico "Oil Spill" natural air stripping process, the chemicals are transferred to the atmosphere and transported in the air and clouds. They do not disappear as some people believe. If humans and animals are exposed to a high level oil/Corexit atmosphere, they will become sick and/or die. Two NASA satellites are capturing images of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, which began April 20, 2010 with the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. This short video reveals a space-based view of the burning oil rig and, later, the resulting spread of the oil spill. This version updates a previous version of the video through July 14th. The timelapse uses imagery from the MODIS instrument, on board NASA's Terra and Aqua satellites. The oil slick appears grayish-beige in the image and changes due to changing weather, currents, and use of oil dispersing chemicals. The oil slick only appears clearly in MODIS imagery when the sun is aa particular angle in relation to the satellite's position as it orbits over the Gulf. In areas where sunlight reflects off the ocean's surface toward the satellite, oil-slicked water usually looks brighter than cleaner ocean water in the region. Hello my fello u tubers: We've all heard rumors about a media blackout in the Gulf: Well the media black out is now official: As CNN is now reporting, the US government has issued a new rule that would make it a felony crime for any journalist, reporter, blogger or photographer to approach any oil cleanup operation, equipment or vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone caught is subject to arrest, a $40000 fine and prosecution for a federal felony crime. My hypothetical scenario is this: If I were a betting man, since equipment and vessel is a broad term, and the Gulf area is very large; I would not be surprised if late at night, people are quietly being taken from their homes, placed on a equipment like a bus or a vessel like a boat or airship and moved to an unknown destination. The media would not be able to report or capture video, due to the fact that this would be under the guise of clean up operations. Definitions: Equipment: an instrumentality needed for an undertaking or to perform a service. Back hoe; Vehicles just to name a couple. Vessel: 1. Nautical A craft, especially one larger than a rowboat, designed to navigate on water. 2. An Airship Airship: a steerable self-propelled aircraft. Maybe Helicopter. My hypothetical scenario includes a possible movement of people within the 200 mile impact zone. I'm using this number because the media has used it in the past for possible affected areas. The possible affected areas are: New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville ...

BP Plc (NYSE:BP) officials said the company collected 23290 barrels of oil from the Gulf of Mexico Sunday, of which 8720 barrels were flared, along with about 48.3 million cubic feet of natural gas. The oil giant said Monday that costs from the spill have reached $2 billion as the spill nears its 60-day mark. BP is trying to raise funds to pay for spill containment, drilling, grants and sand barrier construction. BP is also facing litigation from Andarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE:APC), which owns a 25% interest in the ruptured Macondo well, reports MarketWatch. Andarko Petroleum accused BP last Friday of "reckless" decision-making, which BP said it "strongly" disagrees with. Shares of BP are trading down 2.61% Monday afternoon at $30.93, whereas shares of Andarko Petroleum are trading up 2.94% at $43.82.

This original upload edited by me has been duplicated now and uploaded 4x on Youtube by others here -- Mysterious illness plagues Gulf oil disaster workers Reported by: Janet Kwak Last Update: 6/15 9:57 am www.woai.com SAN ANTONIO -- For weeks now, local hospitals have tracked patients with suspicious symptoms coming in from the gulf coast. Doctors are having trouble distinguishing it from the flu. "What makes it challenging is that patients show up with non-specific symptoms. Headaches, fatigue, problems with memory and concentration, upset stomach," lists Dr. Claudia Miller at UT Health Science Center. The illness is called "TILT," or Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance. Patients lose tolerance to household products, medication, or even food after being exposed to chemicals, like burning oil, toxic fumes, or dispersants from the spill. "Things like diesel fuel, exposure to fragrances, cleaning agents that never bothered them before suddenly bother them," adds Dr. Miller. TILT has been difficult to track because symptoms are similar to the flu. Currently, Dr. Miller is educating primary care doctors on how to spot and treat the illness before it gets worse. Though it's not contagious, the best cure right now is staying away from affected areas. "Be sure to wear protective equipment and stay out of areas with smell, if [you] feel sick," Dr. Miller says. "The smells are usually chemicals that can make them ill." Those who are most at risk are pregnant women and patients ...

connectingdots1 — June 11, 2010 — please have a good listen and spread the info...especially to anyone living in the area of the spill. Hydrogen sulfide: en.wikipedia.org Toxicity Hydrogen sulfide is considered a broad-spectrum poison, meaning that it can poison several different systems in the body, although the nervous system is most affected. The toxicity of H2S is comparable with that of hydrogen cyanide. It forms a complex bond with iron in the mitochondrial cytochrome enzymes, thereby blocking oxygen from binding and stopping cellular respiration. Since hydrogen sulfide occurs naturally in the body, the environment and the gut, enzymes exist in the body capable of detoxifying it by oxidation to (harmless) sulfate.[6] Hence, low levels of sulfide may be tolerated indefinitely. At some threshold level, believed to average around 300--350 ppm, the oxidative enzymes become overwhelmed. Many personal safety gas detectors, such as those used by utility, sewage and petrochemical workers, are set to alarm at as low as 5 to 10 ppm and to go into high alarm at 15 ppm. An interesting diagnostic clue of extreme poisoning by H2S is the discoloration of copper coins in the pockets of the victim. Treatment involves immediate inhalation of amyl nitrite, injections of sodium nitrite, inhalation of pure oxygen, administration of bronchodilators to overcome eventual bronchospasm, and in some cases hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO). HBO therapy has anecdotal support and remains ...
