The infamous headbutt from former Washington Redskins quarterback Gus Frerotte on November 23, 1997 against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. After scoring a touchdown to put the Redskins up 7-0 against the New York Giants on SNF, Gus Frerotte decided to, for still unknown reasons, headbutt a cement wall in celebration. He ended up with a sprained neck and a trip to the hospital. Luckily for Gus, he had his helmet on when he did this. LOL The game ended as a 7-7 tie, saving Gus from looking even stupider if they lost. 4 Those who dont believe in the vikings... GO VIKINGS GO!!!!! Superbowl XLIV is waiting!!! From Gus Frerotte To Bernard Berrian Chicago v. Minnesota Location: Minnesota Winner: Minnesota 34-14 November 30, 2008
ESPN.com Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre plan to meet at an undisclosed location later this week to discuss the possibility of the former Packers and Jets quarterback renouncing his retirement from the NFL to play the 2009 season with the Vikings, according to a source with direct knowledge of discussions between the two parties. There is a mutual understanding that sometime soon thereafter Favre will decide whether to sign with the Vikings. The team would expect him to participate fully in offseason minicamps and training camps, which he missed last year with the Jets. Favre has not been working out and declined to have surgery to repair the torn biceps tendon that plagued him the final month of last season. Favre may believe the injury can heal on its own as did a similar problem with his left shoulder while he played in Green Bay. A source close to Favre told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that how the injury heals will play a role in the quarterback's decision. The source also said that the quarterback's agent, Bus Cook, is researching unemployed NFL quarterback coaches to see if one can be hired to work with Favre in Mississippi while he ponders a possible return. Favre wanted to play for the Vikings last season, but the Packers specifically eliminated their NFC North rivals as a potential destination for the Green Bay icon. Vikings head coach Brad Childress discusses Brett Favre and the health of rookie Percy Harvin. While Favre had ...
Rams Sign Boller ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Rams decided on a backup quarterback Saturday, signing Kyle Boller to a free-agent contract. by BaltimoreRavens.com Apr 4, 2009, 7:17PM Font Size: ST. LOUIS (AP) — The St. Louis Rams decided on a backup quarterback Saturday, signing Kyle Boller to a free-agent contract. The 27-year-old Boller spent all of last season, his sixth with the Baltimore Ravens, on injured reserve with a shoulder injury sustained in the second preseason game. He was Baltimore's first-round pick in the 2003 draft, and the 19th overall selection. "We are happy to add Kyle to our roster," new coach Steve Spagnuolo said in a statement. "We feel that he'll be a valuable addition to our team." The 6-3, 220-pound Boller is 10 years younger than Gus Frerotte, the player the Rams had been negotiating with to return. Frerotte was released with one year to go on a three-year contract before last season, then was 8-3 as the starter with the Vikings. Boller started 42 games over five seasons with the Ravens and holds the franchise record with 7846 yards with 45 touchdown passes and 44 interceptions. Inconsistent play led to the Ravens taking another quarterback, Joe Flacco, in the first round last year. Copyright 2009 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. On a Monday Night Football game from the 2008 season, the commentator mistakenly says Gus Frerotte is 87 years old. Sorry about the quality. This is a pretty old video of mine taken with a cell phone.
