A weird and very windy storm hit Stratford New Jersey on 7/31/09. Broadcast reports clocked wind speeds of 58 mph., however I'm certain that it was a bit higher. A large tree on the small street entering my apartment complex fell victim to the winds of nature.

A severe thunderstorm heads directly for Newark on Sunday July 26, 2009. This thunderstorm was moving rapidly to the northeast and produced a tornado warning in northern Hunterdon, northern Somerset and southern Morris counties. Tree, powerline, and property damage was reported with this storm from Bucks county, PA through Hunterdon county, NJ, into Somerset and Essex counties. A funnel cloud was spotted in Hunterdon county. Winds of 60mph, quarter-size hail, and dangerous lightning were the main threats from this storm, Reports of extensive damage in Pittstown, Frenchtown, Quakertown and Clinton Township in Hunterdon county, and part of Bedminster township in Somerset county, were the result of straight-line winds according to a storm survey team from the National Weather Service. Multiple thunderstorms across New Jersey on this day caused widespread damage. A man was killed in Newark from a lightning strike, and three others injured. In this video, the storm approaches with heavy rain and gusty winds. During the storm and heavy rain, the sun came out and formed a rainbow, the source of which was very close to where I was filming. It may be hard to see, but the rainbow is actually in front of buildings that are only a short distance away. The rainbow comes and goes twice, and as the storm pulls away, downtown Newark suddenly becomes visible. The last quarter of the video shows the storm moving onward. Note: although not visible in the video, for a few minutes there was ...
Just as I was finishing detailing my car, a storm rolled in (with exactly 20 minutes notice) and started to pelt hail the size of golf balls. By the end of the video you can see an ominous mist roll in, that's when the hail started going both ways (see other HD storm video by me) - media contact 908.723.2334 or email@example.com
A little video of a bad storm that hit northern New Jersey at around 5-6pm on Sunday July 26th 2009. The storm was tornado warned just west of our location and my town took a direct hit by the center of the storm. The winds probably reached up around 60+ mph at some points with some of the heaviest rain I've seen. Hail was mostly marble sized with larger, up to ping pong ball sized, mixed in. There was some lightning, but not as much as I thought there would be. The worst damage I saw were a few trees knocked over, one of which was being held up by a bunch of power lines.
Sunday July 26, around 5:30 pm on the drive back from Newark Airport on Rt.78, hail the size of golf balls started plummiting from the sky. I have never seen anything like this in New Jersey, especially where I live. Keep note, I was filming lightning to begin with in this video, which turned into a clip of lagre hail

A potential supercell blew through Highlands, NJ on June 26, 2009. It packed wind gusts in the neighborhood of 60 - 70mph, dumped at least 2 inches of rain, had constant CTG lightning, and caused moderate damage, including widespread moderate flooding, numerous trees down (one down the street crushed 2 cars), shingle damage, and etc. Our 40ft willow was blown down, and flood water was 1.5 ft deep on our street. Overall, a storm of rare intensity for this area. It left the area with a beautiful double rainbow to seal the deal. The flag pole shows potential rotation within the storm as well, let me know what you think!
