BNVN Weather Paparazzi Tony Laubach was out with the Twistex.org research team today for the storms in Colorado. A massive hail storm hit east of Denver, CO today in Hudson and Wiggins Counties. Hail fell for over a half an hour in some area and piled up to almost a foot deep. Snow plows were out trying to clear the hail covered roads for motorists and emergency vehicles. In the video which is over eight minutes long, it documents the large hail and the destruction to vehicles and vegetation as the hail smashed into motorists and ripped the leafs from the trees. Additional footage shows hail falling in a lake and in a creek with water splashing from the large hail stones falling at terminal velocity from the severe thunderstorm. The video includes a lot of various shots of the hail storm and aftermath of the hail storm including why it is not a good idea to block the underpasses by parking under them during a hail storm as emergency vehicles can not get through. This is video of the huge hail core of storm that hit the north side of Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon, May 16, 2010. The video was shot from Britton Road between Sara and Mustang Road looking north as the storm was passing Piedmont. The video doesn't do justice to the blue/green appearance of the hail core. If you listen closely you can hear the hail roar. Shortly after this video was made the storm entered Oklahoma City and caused millions of dollars worth of damage. There are other good videos here on YouTube that were shot from inside the hail storm. This video is intended only to show the massive size of the hail core as it approached the City, not the individual hail stones or the damage they caused. A few sharp eyed individuals have spotted something some are calling a UFO at 1:08 moving very fast from roughly the center of the video to the right. I believe the object is an insect. Hail the size of golf balls, gale force winds and a hell of a lot of water. There was even a land slide at Jacobs Ladder. It was a balmy 30 degrees just before I was wading in knee deep iced water. Many windows and windscreens shattered and trees fallen on cars. 150000 houses left without power and many road accidents. This is the most extreme weather I have ever witnessed in Perth.
First rain since Nov 2009...and it really gave us a good show. Result was dented roof, bonnet and panels. Same to our other car which was parked but it also cracked the windscreen and smashed a wing mirror too. (note: bendy car windscreen phone holder thingo used while filming!)

A massive thunderstorm hit the city of Melbourne on Saturday 6 March 2010. Large hail stones the size of golf balls hit our apartment window. The video footage is taken from our apartment on Siddeley street in the city looking towards the city, Docklands, Etihad Stadium, Yarra river and western suburbs. At one point (3:00min), i thought our window was going to break!
