The Republic of Haiti is a Caribbean country. It was the first independent nation in Latin America and the first black-led republic in the world. Despite these facts, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti and devastated the capital city of Port-au-Prince. Reportedly, more than 150000 people were killed and many buildings were destroyed and damaged in the quake. RT correspondent Aleksandr Luchaninov visited Haiti after the tragedy and here is his report.
United Nations, New York, 12 February 2010 - A short film commissioned by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs to mark the one-month anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti, captures the difficult first few days of the UN-led rescue and recovery operations.
While Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas. Bill and Hillary presided over the biggest cocaine importation program in US history. During that time they amassed a lot of enemies. And so as it goes with all mafia families, people started suspiciously dropping like flies. Many deaths were ruled suicides even though there were five bullet holes in the corpse or even if there was a single blast to the back of the head! Whether the Haiti earthquake was HAARP or not. One has to wonder why the United States and the UN appears to have been getting ready for this disaster long b4 it happened. The US government plans to expropriate and demolish the homes of hundreds of Haiti's most impoverished by expanding the UN military occupation force's outpost in the giant shantytown of Cite Soleil. The infamous US government contractor DynCorp, a quasi-official arm of the Pentagon and the CIA, is responsible for expanding the base named "Konbit pou lape" (Get Together for Peace), which houses the soldiers of the UN Mission to Stabilize Haiti (MINUSTAH) in the most bullet-ridden battleground of the foreign military occupation that began after US Special Forces kidnapped President Jean-Bertrand Aristide and his wife from their home and flew them into exile on Feb. 29, 2004. www.haitiaction.net ...and if that isn't enough, right after the Aristide Coup the US went strait to work building a brand new Green Zone Compound. Preliminary Reconnaissance Presentation about Haiti Earthquake presentation by: EDUARDO FIERRO, PE BFP Engineers, Inc. On January 12, 2010, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Haiti caused extreme destruction to Haiti's infrastructure, economy and society. Eduardo Fierro, president of BFP Engineers, Inc. based in Berkeley CA, has just returned from a week of post-earthquake reconnaissance work investigating the damage in Haiti that was partially funded by PEER. As the first earthquake engineer from the United States to do earthquake reconnaissance in Haiti, he will be presenting, for the first time, his personal account of the earthquake including photos and video that have never been seen. He will also share new information about the current situation in Haiti and will highlight the damage caused to the built environment from an engineering perspective.
Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez has accused the United States of causing Haiti's disastrous earthquake. He says the US navy launched a weapon capable of inducing a powerful earthquake off the shore of Haiti. He adds that this time it was only a drill and the final target is to take over Iran.
Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez has once again accused the United States of playing God. But this time it's Haiti's disastrous earthquake that he thinks the US was behind. Spanish newspaper ABC quotes Chavez as saying that the US navy launched a weapon capable of inducing a powerful earthquake off the shore of Haiti. He adds that this time it was only a drill and the final target is ... destroying and taking over Iran.
Thousands of US troops have arrived on the island, trying to offer security and distribute what humanitarian aid there is. And the UN Security Council is expected to approve the deployment of 3500 extra UN troops. But critics say before more security forces arrive, it is medical equipment, nurses and doctors that need to be allowed access to the country if aid efforts can really begin to reach those most in need. Sebastian Walker reports from Port-au-Prince. (Januray 19th, 2010)
Additional police and troops are being sent to Haiti to bolster security amid relief efforts in the wake of last weeks deadly earthquake. For many earthquake victims, even six days after the disaster, the story is still one of frustration as aid is only slowly getting through. While at the airport the debate rages over the prioritising of military flights over civilian aid flights, in makeshift relief camps some earthquake victims are going hungry while others are fighting for food. Al Jazeera's Mike Kirsch reports on the situation from Port-au-Prince. (Jan 19, 09)
Haiti Earthquake & the HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) Induction Magnetometer - you will now see 3 images based on a time-frequency spectrogram, which shows the frequency content of signals recorded by the HAARP Induction Magnetometer. This instrument, provided by the University of Tokyo, measures temporal variations in the geomagnetic field in the ULF (ultra-low frequency) range of 0-5 Hz. The spectrogram images are produced by computing the PSD (power spectral density) of successive 102.4-second segments of timeseries data, and plotting these spectra as color/intensity slices along a 24-hour scale. Audio files are created by converting the raw 10 Hz sampled waveform (Bx channel) to a wav file at 44.1 kHz (resulting in a playback speedup of 4410 times), and then compressing the 1.7MB wav file to a 150KB mp3 file.
