Deepwater Minerals Exploration and Induced Seismicity ........ While most earthquakes are caused by movement of the Earth's tectonic plates, human activity can also produce earthquakes. Four main activities contribute to this phenomenon: constructing large dams and buildings, drilling and injecting liquid into wells, (Repeat, drilling and injecting liquid into wells like BP's bottom kill and bunk shot) and by coal mining and oil drilling. Perhaps the best known example is the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China's Sichuan Province in May; this tremor resulted in 69227 fatalities and is the 19th deadliest earthquake of all time. The Zipingpu Dam is believed to have fluctuated the pressure of the fault away; this pressure probably increased the power of the earthquake and accelerated the rate of movement for the fault. The greatest earthquake in Australia's history was also induced by humanity, through coal mining. The city of Newcastle was built over a large sector of coal mining areas. The earthquake was spawned from a fault which reactivated due to the millions of tonnes of rock removed in the mining process. Over the last few decades, it has become clear that various human activities have the potential to generate seismic activity. Examples include subsurface waste injection, reservoir impoundment in the vicinity of large dams, and development of mining, geothermal or hydrocarbon resources. Recently, induced seismicity has also become a concern in connection with geologic ...

HAARP is a military installation in Alaska that sends radio waves or pulses to the ionosphere and as a result generates a returning wave of much bigger intensity and very low frequency that is able to make the earth vibrate and shake, such as during an earthquake. Earthquakes in the world of Magnitude greater than 5 According to the statistics of USGS between year 1990 and year 1999 there have been an average of 1476 events per year between year 2000 and year 2009 there have been an average of 1704 (!) events per year That means in the last 10 years we have had a sensible escalation of earthquakes of magnitude greater than 5, they have increased by 15%. and in the last 5 years the escalation has been even bigger +32% (!!) The peak of events was reached in 2007 with 2269 earthquakes in a single year = + 53%(!!!) Compare it to the average of 1476 events in the nineties and you get that something is terribly wrong. You can't have a sismic escalation that rapid. HAARP began transmissions in late 1994 and transitioned to full power in 2006. Is It also a coincidence? Doesn't it sound at least suspicious?

Google Tech Talk April 8, 2010 ABSTRACT Presented by W. David Schwaderer. Innovation is essential for all progress and competitive survival. It provides a democratic vehicle for individuals and upstarts to challenge and neutralize powerful incumbents. Yet, because change accompanies innovation, it is a double-edged sword. This presentation examines the historical reception transformative scientific breakthroughs initially received before widespread adoption. By example, it teaches principles that can help ensure change agents personally, and their organizations, are on the delivering side of innovation's sharp edge. W. David Schwaderer has a Masters Degree in Applied Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He has worked at IBM, EDS, Adaptec, Symantec, and Silicon Valley startups. He has authored six commercial software programs for a variety of machine architectures using several different languages, dozens of articles, and ten technical books that explain complex technology in approachable ways. David's soon-to-be-published 11th book follows over 10 years of research and is titled "Innovation Survival - Concept, Courage, Chance, and Change".

Next are two short excerpts from a recently filmed TED presentation (Feb 2010) by none other than Bill "Microsoft" Gates. At the heart of Gates' address lies the central Global Warming dogma, which dictates that Co2 emitted by human beings are the primary culprit for the unwanted heating of the globe. Since this artificial alleged human-induced heating effect allegedly stands to devastate the planet if left unabated, Global Warming dogma proponents therefore argue that human Co2 emissions must be drastically reduced. As Gates casually addresses the issue, he goes on to state that one way to accomplish this goal is to reduce the global human population. ERRATUM: To be completely fair and accurate, I should have stated that Gates seeks to reduce the anticipated growth of the human population rather than that he seeks to reduce the current population. I admit that the latter slogan, that is contained in the video, is a bit misleading and I do not want to insinuate that Gates seeks to kill off currently living people. He rather seeks to lower the projected population growth. He postulates the central equation, giving an estimation of the humanly emitted C02 load per year, to be: Co2 = P times S times E times C Where P stands for the population number, S the average number of services per person, E the average amount of energy units per service, and C the average Co2 emitted load per unit of service, per year; Co2 stands for the projected total humanly emitted carbon-dioxide ...
Chile Quake Is One of the Biggest in a Century By GAUTAM NAIK The 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck off coastal Chile in the early hours of the morning is one of the biggest temblors anywhere in more than a century. Data from the US Geological Survey suggests that this morning's Chile quake tied in fifth place with an 8.8 quake that hit Ecuador and Bolivia in 1906. Only four quakes have been bigger since 1900. The largest was a 9.5 magnitude event that struck Chile in 1960, causing 1655 fatalities, leaving 2 million homeless, and triggering a tsunami that killed people in Hawaii, Japan and the Philippines. "This was a big one," said Harley Benz, scientist in charge of the USGS's National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo., which monitors global quake activity in real time. "The Chile quake released 500 times more energy than the quake that hit Haiti." That's because quake magnitudes are calculated on a logarithmic scale. Thus, a magnitude 8 quake releases 33 times the energy as a magnitude 7 quake, and a magnitude 9 quake releases 33 multiplied by 33 times the energy of a magnitude 7 event. The quake that hit Haiti on Jan. 12 was magnitude 7, and the Chile quake was magnitude 8.8 -- which works out to about 500 times more energy. Aftershocks are a big worry. After the initial quake, some 50 aftershocks have been recorded in Chile of magnitude 5 or larger, according the NEIC. The largest so far was a 6.9 magnitude aftershock. YouTube Project Report The Maya Center for Rural Education and Well-Being (MayaCREW) is a registered US 501c3 public charity committed to providing a brighter future to impoverished rural Guatemalan children and their families. MayaCREW works in solidarity with Guatemalan grassroots partner organizations by extending material and intellectual support for long-term projects that provide educational opportunities and sustainable public health options. There are more than 90 schools and about 30000 primary and secondary students in Chichicastenango ... out of population of maybe 120000. There are at least another 5 or 6000 kids under 13 who are not attending school at all. 51 percent of all Guatemalans are 18 or younger.... In Chichi, the rate is probably more than 55 percent. Guatemalan women have an average of 3.9 children, but in rural towns like Chichi the rate is more like 6 per woman. This school is typical of village schools in Chichicastenango. In Chujulimul II, a little town on the south side of the Pan American Highway and more than 40 minutes from the pueblo of Chichicastenango, birth rates, mortality, and morbidity are all high. More than sixty percent of children show signs of growth stunting from poor nourishment. The gentlemen at upper left of this photo are members of a school improvement committee. They invited me to their school in hopes of getting scholarships or other resources. Lack of funding prevented ACEBAR/MayaCREW from making any significant ...

BlackTree TV's Jamaal Finkley, sits down with Nate Parker and Dr. Ben Chavis to discuss the relevance of this movie, Blood Done Sign My Name, in a "Post-Black" "Post Racial" time. 'Blood Done Sign My Name' Film aims to show civil rights movement's continuing relevance By Adrianne Murchison For the AJC 1:20 pm Monday, February 15, 2010 The civil rights movement and its aftermath continue to create bonds, tying together the people who experienced or witnessed racial injustice. Its true for Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Timothy B. Tyson and Jeb Stuart. Last week, film director Stuarts Blood Done Sign My Name opened the Pan African Film and Arts Festival in Los Angeles, and it is set for wider release Friday. It tells the story of the 1970 murder of Henry "Dickie" Marrow in Oxford, NC, and the unrest that follows, including a boycott of white-owned businesses led by Chavis, Marrow's cousin. Then a young high school teacher and civil rights organizer, Chavis is co-chair of the Hip Hop Summit Action Network and former head of the NAACP. Its not a movie that is easily told, Stuart said. Its not an apology for white sins. Its a story of heroes bonded by a particular story. The film is based on Tysons memoir of the same title and stars Rick Schroder and Nate Parker (from The Great Debaters). Tyson, now a visiting professor at Duke University, was 10 at the time of Marrows murder, the son of a progressive minister who tried to bring about change in his congregation. Stuart said he felt an ...
