Chip Chip Hooray, a pint-sized colt with a big engine, delivered $1 million dollars worth of cheer to a seasoned Hall of Famer and a young gun when he won the 2002 edition of trotting's most prestigious race.
The 75th anniversary of the Hambletonian was a celebration of the rich history and tradition of trotting's greatest race, but there was nothing conventional about the colt and trainer who brought home the 200 trophy. Ontario native trainer Doug McIntosh, trainer of Yankee Paco, opted to to stay in Canada until the horse's Meadowland's debut in the eliminations on July 29.
