In the early 70's popular Nigerian artist Fela Kuti released "shuffering and shmiling" a song that served to juxtapose the chaotic environment of Africa with the blinding optimism of its indigenes. Optimism that many times was the product of a mass flooding of religious hope into the minds of Africa's people. According to Fela "suffer suffer for world, enjoy for heaven" was the motto that seemed to place the minds of Africans into a false sense of enjoyment, one that caused them to ignore their current and often chaotic predicament and remain enthusiastically optimistic for a future that was bleak. Not surprisingly Fela's song received national criticism from the upper echelons of the Nigerian government, who condemned his obvious claim of suffering. And by the lower class Nigerian citizenship seemingly offended with the notion that somehow they were satisfied with their current state of poverty. In 2003 Fela would be vindicated posthumously by a World Value Survey carried out by the University of Michigan. A survey that listed Nigerians as the happiest people in the world. A happiness that occurred amidst nefarious statistics courtesy www.ruralpoverty.com showing that 35% of Nigerians lived in abject poverty with more than double that number considered as poor. Just talking about some of the things on my mind lately. PS. The cake is a lie. Question: What 5 movies have influenced you or your life in some way?
This video was part of a design project that I did for an art class. I experience something called Synesthesia, which literally means "a union of the senses". Basically, I "see" colors and shapes when I hear music. For example, I play piano and I associate a specific color for every chord on the instrument. My art project explained what Synesthesia entails and gave a glimpse into the mind of someone who experiences this phenomena (me). I used my color-sound associations to create these videos. So, I'm not using LSD. Let me just get that out of the way. It's just natural to me. However, I don't think Synesthesia is a "condition", per se. I think everyone's senses are connected in this way, but the fact that I'm very sensitive to color and sound (I'm artistic and musical) allows me to realize the full effect of what I'm experiencing. Everyone has a unique brains, yes, but the potential for there to be certain "wiring" is there, right? I guess we'll find out with future studies in neurology. The Beatle's song "Here Comes The Sun" is one of The Beatles' happiest songs because the melody is uplifting and at a fairly fast tempo, but more importantly the song is written in A Major. To me, A Major is the happiest chord because it makes me "feel" a bright, sweet lemon yellow. So who knows. Mabe that's what the song does to you, as well, but you didn't realize that's what was going on. All I know is that the song wouldn't have the same effect on me if it were written in an other ...

READ FIRST Hey, thanks for watching my video, I've dedicated it to my mum (spikesbint) as she loves David Tennant and this is one of her favourite pairings. STORYLINE: Rose and The Doctor are trying to get into contact again after the parting on 'Doomsday' and they'll go through any means to do so! The glowy effects I've put on most of the clips is meant to be within their minds and what they can see as it's the quests/missions that they've accomplished before when she was his partner, these are the only places they can come together yet when they're connection is starting to fade it ends with them defeating the Darleks and being in different dimensions all over again and without the 2nd Doctor. The Doctor is smiling at the end because in his mind is where he's most happiest and when he sees he's awakened he closes his eyes into a never ending sleep where he can be with Rose forever and we see her waiting tearfully for him.
Big credit goes to Carl Hiaasen's book, Team Rodent: How Disney Devours the World and James B. Stewart's book, Disneywar. The latter is a book about all things Eisener and tells of everything you could possibly want to know about his interactions while he was CEO (1984-2005).
