Not in theaters but in youtube :-) ********** Mom admits to "Balloon Boy" hoax: court record DENVER (Reuters) - The mother of a Colorado boy thought to be aboard a homemade helium balloon has admitted to investigators the whole thing was a hoax, according to a court document made public on Friday. The local sheriff had already said the October 15 "Balloon Boy" incident was a publicity stunt and expected felony charges to be filed against the 6-year-old boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene. The live television images of the silver saucer-like balloon soaring through the Colorado skies captivated audiences until the boy turned up in the family's attic. Public sympathy turned to outrage when the family's account began to unravel. According to a copy of a search warrant affidavit posted on the website of Fort Collins newspaper "The Coloradoan," Mayumi told investigators she and her husband lied to authorities and knew their son Falcon was at home as rescue teams tracked the balloon believing the boy was inside. "The motive for the fabricated story was to make the Heene family more marketable for future media ...

6-year-old Falcon Heene floats in his "balloon" over an RCT3 park. LOL. Richard Heene Larry King Live
In the Larry King Live interview in which he gave his parents balloon hoax away, Falcon Heene made another shocking comment. With the family lined up in front of the camera, Wolf Blitzer, who filled in for King, introduced himself. Richard and Mayumi Heene instructed their three sons to say Hello to Wolf. While two of the boys said a shy Hello, 6-year-old Falcon looked up at his father and asked, Who the hell is Wolf? Later in the interview, Falcon revealed the balloon scare was all a hoax intended to land his family a reality show. You guys said we did this for the show, Falcon said when his father asked him why he didnt come out of hiding when they called his name. The hoax unfolded last Thursday when the Heene familys homemade Mylar balloon was set adrift. Richard and Mayumi called authorities saying Falcon was inside. One of Falcons siblings told police he saw his brother get inside the balloon and untie the rope that anchored it to their home. The balloon floated away, reaching about 7000 feet before it landed. Police didnt find the boy inside the balloon and feared he could have fallen out. A ground search was launched and Falcon was later found hiding in the familys attic. He initially said he hid because he feared getting in trouble for untying the balloon. Richard and Mayumi Heene could be charged with two felonies, conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. An attorney for the couple says they wish to avoid the public spectacle and humiliation of ...

A Colorado sheriff expects charges of conspiracy, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, making a false report to authorities and attempting to influence a public servant, in the much publicized 'Balloon Boy' case. Sheriff Jim Alderden confirmed that the drama was indeed a hoax and said that he believes the Heene family carried out the ordeal of releasing the balloon on Thursday with hopes of them better marketing themselves for a reality television show sometime in the future. The sheriff said no charges had been filed yet, and the parents weren't under arrest. Alderden added that all three children knew of the publicity stunt, but won't likely face charges because of their age. The sheriff also said that he can prove that the balloon was not capable of carrying a boy of Falcon Heene's weight. Some of the most serious charges each carry a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a $500000 fine. Deputies searched the home of the boy's parents Saturday night, carrying away several boxes and a computer. Alderden said 6-year-old Falcon may not have even been in the rafters in the garage, as originally reported, based on where the investigators were when the boy entered the house. "For all we know he may have been two blocks down the road playing on the swing in the city park," he said. Heene, a storm chaser and inventor, and his family have appeared on the reality show "Wife Swap." Alderden said the couple met in acting school in Hollywood. Alderden said interviews ...

Obama Describes The Falcon Heene Balloon Boy Incident
A Colorado sheriff said he was pursuing criminal charges in the case of a 6-year-old boy who vanished into the rafters of his garage while the world thought he was zooming through the sky in a flying saucer-like helium balloon. The boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, met with Larimer County investigators for much of the afternoon, but Sheriff Jim Alderden didn't say who would be charged or what the charges would be. Alderden didn't call Thursday's hours-long drama a hoax, but he expressed disappointment that he couldn't level more serious charges in the incident, which sent police and the military scrambling to save young Falcon Heene as millions of worried television viewers watched. "We were looking at Class 3 misdemeanor, which hardly seems serious enough given the circumstances," Alderden said. "We are talking to the district attorney, federal officials to see if perhaps there aren't additional federal charges that are appropriate in this circumstance." He said deputies were seeking a search warrant for the family's home, and there would be more information at a news conference Sunday. After the sheriff went inside, Richard Heene and his wife walked out. As reporters yelled questions, all Heene said was, "I was talking to the sheriff's department just now." He then walked to his car with his wife and a friend, and they drove away. The Heenes were expected to speak to reporters outside their home later Saturday, after a strange day that began with Richard Heene ...

CNN's Errol Barnett reveals new video the Heene family released to prove the "balloon boy" incident was not a hoax. - Oct. 16, 2009
During a live interview on Larry King Live on CNN Thursday night, Falcon Heene, of Fort Collins, said he had heard his family calling his name. "You did?" the boy's mother, Mayumi Heene, asked "Why didn't you come out?" Richard Heene then said on national television. Falcon answered, "You had said that we did this for a show." When Richard Heene was pressed by fill-in host Wolf Blitzer to explain what his son meant, he became uncomfortable, finally saying he was "appalled" by the questions. He added that Falcon likely was referring to all the media coverage. When pressed by reporters outside his home after the CNN interview, Heene reacted angrily. "'Let me interrupt this real quick because I can see the direction you guys are heading on this," Richard Heene said. "We weren't even going to do this interview. I'm appalled after all the feelings I went through that you guys are trying to suggest something else." Mayumi Heene added, "All I know is, it was real. I really thought we might have lost him." On Friday, Richard Heene again lambasted speculation that the ordeal was a hoax. "I went through such a roller coaster of emotions (Thursday), to have people say that, I think, is extremely pathetic," he told ABC's "Good Morning America." "I'm not selling anything. This is what we do all the time." On Friday, Falcon got sick twice on national television when he and his father were asked during separate TV interviews what he meant about his comment that "we did this for a show ...
During a press conference the day after the Falcon heene "balloon boy" incident, Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden is asked by a reporter why the punishment for the Heene family, if it is discovered they were pulling a hoax, is only a class 3 misdemeanor. "That's pretty small potatoes, isn't it," she said, before asking what justifies "a lot of ado about a low criminal offense." "Cause you all won't get off our back," Alderden responded.
Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden holds a press conference the day after the Falcon heene "balloon boy" incident, as well as the fallout from the family's appearance on "Larry King Live" later that day. Alderden said the department "searched the house three times... except for the place where the boy was hiding... There's no ladders to get up in the attic." Due to debris in the garage, they thought it would be impossible for the child to be in the attic. The Sheriff also confirmed that a tip of there being a box in the attic was "erroneous information," confirming a "clear attic space that was flat." Speaking on behalf of investigators, Alderden says: "We were convinced yesterday after talking to the parents and having investigators on scene... that the parents were being honest with us." He added that the family's emotions were "consistent with the events that were taking place." Alderden also commented on the infamous Wolf Blitzer interview the family did later that day. "Clearly that has raised everybody's level of skepticism," he says. He added that investigators planned to "go back to the family and attempt to reinterview them to establish whether this is in fact a hoax." He said such an interview would be conducted later this weekend, as the family is very "fatigued" today. "Certainly people are free to speculate... but those of us in the law enforcement profession have to operate on facts... and not on whay the public might think without any proof." During the ...
