Helen Thomas in July 2009 grilled white house spokesman Robert Gibbs by telling him how the Obama Administration has limited speech and freedom more than any other president. Helen Thomas and Chip Reid both point out how Obama doesn't allow real questions to be asked, and how everything that is asked is in fact pre-screened and pre-determined. In other words, you don't question the administration. There's no transparency. Obama's "Change" is towards Fascism (what he never told you). Join The Illuminati (Msg Me). SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL. Helen Thomas (born August 4, 1920) is an American author and a former news service reporter, Hearst Newspapers columnist, and member of the White House Press Corps. She served for 57 years as a correspondent and, later as, White House bureau chief for United Press International (UPI). Thomas covered every president of the United States since the later years of the Eisenhower administration, coming to the forefront with John F. Kennedy, and serving until the second year of the Obama administration. She was the first female officer of the National Press Club, the first female member and president of the White House Correspondents' Association, and, in 1975, the first female member of the Gridiron Club. She has written five books; her latest with co-author Craig Crawford is Listen Up, Mr. President: Everything You Always Wanted Your President to Know and Do. Thomas retired on June 7, 2010, following reaction to comments she had made about Israel. In November 1960, Thomas began covering then President-elect John F. Kennedy, following him to the White House in January 1961 as a UPI correspondent. Thomas became known as the "Sitting Buddha." It was during Kennedy's administration that she ended all presidential press conferences with a signature "Thank you, Mr. President," a tradition started by UPI's Merriman Smith during the presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Throughout her career as a correspondent, Thomas earned a reputation for being relentless and demanding. In an ...
Helen Thomas tells the Jews to get the hell out of Palestine, and go back to German and Poland.
Helen Thomas Sacked after remarks on Israel Helen Thomas, the legendary White House reporter who broke down barriers against female journalists covering politics, will retire after controversial remarks criticized by many as anti-Israel. Hearst, her latest employer and owner of numerous media properties, including The Chronicle, on Monday announced the immediate retirement of Thomas, who will be 90 on Aug. 4. Thomas told a rabbi at a White House event last week that Jews should "get the hell out of Palestine" and go back to Germany and Poland or the United States. Her comments were caught on videotape and widely distributed. The remarks caused a furor even though she immediately apologized. Her invitation to speak at a local graduation was rescinded. Jewish groups called her remarks ignorant and insensitive and said her apology did not go far enough. "I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians," Thomas said in a statement. "They do not reflect my heartfelt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon." A daughter of Lebanese immigrants, Thomas did little to hide her pro-Arab views. During George W. Bush's presidency, her questions to both the president and his press secretaries were almost exclusively about the war in Iraq. At his daily briefing, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs on Monday condemned the comments, calling ...
Helen Thomas, the White House reporter of the lengthiest employment has resigned after advising the Israelis to leave the occupied Palestinian territories. Helen Thomas retired on Monday, a week after saying during the Jewish Heritage Celebration, "Tell them (Israelis) to get the hell out of Palestine," AFP reported. "Remember these people are occupied and it's their land, not German and not Poland," she said. "They can go home, Poland, Germany, and America and everywhere else." However, the 89-year-old veteran reporter later posted an apology on her website. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said on Monday that the remarks were "offensive and reprehensible." She worked as a correspondent for United Press International (UPI) for 57 years from 1943 to 2000. She then joined Hearst Newspapers as a columnist, covering national affairs and the White House. Ms. Thomas was the first female officer of the National Press Club, the first female member and president of the White House Correspondents Association, and, in 1975, the first female member of the Gridiron Club. Helen Thomas has been a fixture at White House press conferences for decades and was often allowed to ask the

After a majority of Americans rejected President Obama's Healthcare Plan, he announced a town hall meeting to discuss the topic. In the past, the White House team preselects only easy, softball questions for Obama, so Chip Reed (from CBS) and Helen Thomas challenged the president's spokesman. He won't even acknowledge their point and laughs off serious concerns. The Last TRUE White House Reporter, Helen Thomas, Skewers Gibbs over dismissing the concern and the WhiteHouse's lack of transparency (which they promissed). The town hall meeting Obama held wasn't an open forum like they want you to think, it was a pre-planned media stunt to highlight the points the president wants, Not the concerns of the people.

In an attempt to give our readers a view of the inner workings of their most direct link to the President, Mediaite has begun conducting a series of interviews with members of the White House Press Corps. We think it's fitting that our first entry is Helen Thomas, the legendary Hearst Newspapers White House correspondent, occupant of the front row center seat, and the toughest questioner you'll find in that briefing room. Helen has been making news lately by grilling counterterrorism czar John Brennan, which prompted a rebuke from Fox News' Bill O'Reilly. This is the balance of the interview to which O'Reilly responded.

An interesting exchange between the press and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. Q When is the President going to hold a news conference? Not that you're not adequate. MR. GIBBS: Well, I appreciate that. (Laughter.) Chip asked this question on Friday -- Q Yes, but she'll get an answer. (Laughter.) MR. GIBBS: Well, she is nicer than you, Chip. (Laughter.) QI mean, he's gone an obscenely long time, not holding one. MR. GIBBS: But again, not the word "adequate." (Laughter.) I don't see one on the schedule at least in the short term, which is precisely what I said -- Q Is he avoiding us? MR. GIBBS: No. Again, the last time we had this conversation here about the President's media strategy I was informed by many of you that the President was overexposed. Q But you don't have a good reason for not holding one. Q Who in this room said that the President was overexposed? One person in this room that said he was overexposed. MR. GIBBS: No, we had a whole round of questioning on that. Q Let's take a vote. Q Seriously. (Laughter.) MR. GIBBS: Okay. Who at some point -- Q Raise your hand if you do not believe he's overexposed. (Laughter.) MR. GIBBS: Okay, so that's one. Q That was very confusingly phrased. MR. GIBBS: No, that was actually quite well-phrased and one person -- Q And that is not the answer. The answer is accountability. Q Who wants a news conference? (Laughter.) MR. GIBBS: Right, who wants to win the lottery? Q Are you saying our chances are just the same? MR. GIBBS: Scratch and win, Major. Scratch and win. Q Seriously, one person in this room that said he was overexposed, just one. MR. GIBBS: That's not true. Q Just name one person who said he was overexposed. MR. GIBBS: I will go back and look at the transcript and we can -- Q Well, we have questions about pundits. But we're not pundits; we're reporters. There are pundits out there who were saying -- (laughter) -- MR. GIBBS: Do you have a ... Distributed by Tubemogul.
