"OPEN ARMS: RAISING AWARENESS OF UPPER LIMB SPASTICITY" EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN MAY 25, 2010 (IRVINE, Calif.) - To address the low awareness and under-diagnosis of upper limb spasticity, Allergan, Inc., maker of BOTOX(r) (onabotulinumtoxinA), has joined forces with Henry Winkler and a coalition of five national patient advocacy organizations, including National Stroke Association, Brain Injury Association of America, National Spinal Cord Injury Association, United Cerebral Palsy and United Spinal Association, to launch the "Open Arms: Raising Awareness of Upper Limb Spasticity" educational campaign. Spasticity is a debilitating condition impacting approximately 1 million Americans, many of whom suffer from spasticity in the upper limbs following a stroke.1 However, upper limb spasticity may also occur following a spinal cord or traumatic brain injury or in patients affected by multiple sclerosis or adults with a history of cerebral palsy. The "Open Arms: Raising Awareness of Upper Limb Spasticity" educational campaign aims to reach those who are impacted by upper limb spasticity and don't know where to turn for help. At www.OpenArmsCampaign.com, those affected by upper limb spasticity will learn how to recognize the condition and find resources to help locate a neurologist or physiatrist that is trained to manage and treat the condition. Throughout the year, several educational seminars will be hosted in cities across the country, as well as on the Internet. Tightness or ...

Henry Winkler starred as "Fonzie" in Happy Days from 1974-84, then began to produce and direct television starting in the '80s while continuing to act- earning his fifth Primetime Emmy nomination as a guest star on The Practice. Winkler says of acting "you have to need to act, because it is such a difficult profession." He discusses his early years, as the child of Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany, his early passion for acting, and his struggles with then-undiagnosed dyslexia. Winkler chronicles his early career in New York, where he acted on stage and in numerous commercials and his subsequent decision to move to Los Angeles, where he was quickly cast as a guest actor on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. He details all aspects of the role for which he became most known, Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli on the hit sitcom, Happy Days. He talks about his casting, the development of the character, working with the cast (particularly Ron Howard and producer Garry Marshall), and the iconic status (and occasional mayhem it generated) of Fonzie as well as his catchphrase --"whoa ". Of developing the character, Winkler says he didn't want it to be a stereotype: "I would never comb my hair. I would never chew gum. I would never wear a Garrison belt, I'd never have cigarettes in my sleeve 'cause ever actor who ever played this character did that." He reveals that because of his dyslexia, as "Fonzie" he never actually rode a motorcycle. He speaks about fame and celebrity, and being grateful he ...

As you can imagine security was tight at Yellowstone airport today. Secret service were all over the place for the president's departure. When Obama arrived he saluted one of the guards, and walked with his family toward the plane. And as all president's do, he waived to the press a few times, before finally getting on the plane. Airforce One is a pretty large plane for Yellowstone airport, and you won't believe who got a tour on it. "We flew in, and got off the plane, I got m&m's from the president's plane. So if I never, if I don't catch a fish, look what I did. Then I met all of the secret service and the staff, and they send their regards to you," said Henry Winkler. Henry Winkler, who came to fame as Fonzie on Happy Days, is in town to go fly fishing at the fire hole ranch. "Arthur fonzarelli did, you know what he did? He voted for the president... what we need in America more than anything else in the world is a great healthcare plan," said Winkler. Other visitors were in the same kind of awe as Winkler was about the president's visit to the area. Some were even lucky enough to get the chance to watch his departure from inside the terminal. "I think it's a terrific thing, I think the national parks need this kind of attention," said David Straus, who is visiting from New York City. "I think it's really exciting, we didn't expect it to happen, obviously. Just happen to be here, it's a great thrill," said Jim Daly from San Francisco.
