Late Mr. Mohammed Rafi was not only gifted with a divine voice, he was also a very humble and considerate individual. He would help out struggling music directors and would sing for them virtually for nothing. And he would give his best to these songs. There are countless Rafi songs sung for anonymous music directors which were picturised on forgotten/ forgettable actors. This beautiful song is one of them! A song from the film Kasthuri Suvada. Cast -Gamini Fonseka, Malani Fonseka. Song By-HR Jothipala- Hettiarachchige Reginald Jothipala (February 12, 1936 -- July 7, 1987) was a prolific playback singer in the Sinhala cinema. Abeyratne's Surathalee singing, "Siriyame Sara," in 1956.[3] Prior to this he had recorded a song for the late Sirisena Wimalaweera's Podi Putha. This song didn't make the final cut, as the Indian film composer on the film didn't consider Jothipala's voice good enough. Jothi has said that he contemplated taking his life when he went with his friends to watch Podi Putha and found out that his song was not included. Later when Surathalee producer Jabir A. Cader wanted to hear one of his songs to consider him for the film, Jothipala almost passed on the offer as he did not possess enough money to cut a record. He was helped out by veteran musician ...

Here is a rare treat, an unreleased film song of Rafi Sahab. When I googled for more details of this song, I got the lyrics but not the confirmed picutre name! As rightly pointed out in an article in Mohd Rafi.com, there are probably hundreds of unreleased gems of Rafi Sahab that we do not know about. This is one such number, the composer being little known Roshan Lal, an Assistant of MD Ravi, who later composed for some relatively obscure films. This one apparently was never released

"Andaz" (Hindi: अन्दाज़, Persian, Urdu: اَنداز) is a 1971 Hindi romantic movie starring Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Rajesh Khanna, Simi Garewal, Aruna Irani and Achala Sachdev. The film was directed by Ramesh Sippy. Andaz was one of the last movies for which the great music directors duo, Shankar- Jaikishan composed music together. Jaikishan died of cirrhosis of the liver on September 12, 1971 at the young age of 42. Coincidentally, one of the most popular songs from this film - Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana, Yahaan Kal Kya Ho Kisne Jaana ( Life is a beautiful journey, One never knows what's going to happen tomorrow) turned out to be the last song that Jaikishan recorded before his untimely death. Andaz also proved to be the last hit for Shammi Kapoor as a lead hero. Even the success of this movie is credited to the Rajesh Khanna Mania of the 70's, as Rajesh Khanna only appeared for five minutes in the movie, and still created a stir. However, Shammi Kapoors performance was well received and it has been one of his most uncharacteristic roles of his career.....Mohammed Rafi (Hindi: मोहम्मद रफ़ी, Urdu: محمد رفیع; December 24, 1924 July 31, 1980), often addressed as Rafi Sahib, was an Indian playback singer whose career spanned four decades and is one of the most versatile male singers in the history of Indian cinema. Mumtaz 70's Queen of the Indian Screen Mumtaz acted in more than 100 films during a short career span of 14 years, and there is not even a single film in which her performance could not be termed as excellent. In her very first film with significant banner and role, Khilona (1970), she won the most coveted Filmfare award in 1970. She has also been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Filmfare in 1997. Whether the role was negative or positive, serious or light, she proved her worth. Whether the role was for an urbanite or rustic, majestic or pauper, innocent or vile, gentle or venomous, coy or flaunting, Mumtaz just fitted them like a glove. The public adulation for her is still strong. The response to the continuous spate of screening of her movies on various television channels, even after more than two decades of her self-retirement, proves her tremendous unending popularity due to her incomparable charisma.
