Director/ Producer John Halpern introduces us to one of the characters from the documentary film KASHMIR September 19, 2009 New York, NY: John Halpern, the director and producer of films such as Refuge, Talking with the Dalai Lama, and Joseph Beuys, Transformer, is bringing us yet another indelible character. He calls himself Mr. Wonderful ~ Flower Man, and he sells beautiful flowers from his boat on Dal Lake, in Kashmir. In this refreshing 5 min. short, Mr. Wonderful rows his floating, floral shop to a houseboat and disembarks, while singing all the way. Watching it, you feel as if you have known him all of your life. His charm and beautiful spirit are infectious. He tells of his life, sings and makes us feel at home in war-torn Kashmir. It is impossible to watch the video without smiling. I was honored to meet Mr. Wonderful while filming in the Kashmir conflict zone, explains Halpern. 'When singing Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious, the famous 1960s Mary Poppins tune, and of the Dangers and Terrorism in Kashmir, Mr. Wonderful is at once enchanting and tragic. He is the personification of the beauty that remains in Kashmir despite the horror and bloodshed of the 60 years of war in the Kashmir valley. I wanted to share him with the world right away; he is such a powerful ambassador for this troubled region. After completing his documentaries Refuge and Talking with the Dalai Lama, Halpern became intrigued with the anthropology of violence, fear and anger, especially in ...

Aussie horror / sci fi - best compliment it can be given is that its better than Houseboat Horror. Gerard Kennedy, Lisa McCune, one of the Daddo folks, William McInnes and Brett Climo. Vomit sequence near the end ... note Tommy Dysart cameo!

Segment from season 1 of the Aussie comedy show The Late Show (1992), "Undiscovered Masterpieces of the Cinema" by Tony Martin. He reviews the bad Aussie B movie, Houseboat Horror (1989). It rated 4 Doplh Lundgrens ;)

There are so many good things about this film but main thing that stood out was Gavin Wood. Most of his lines seem completely improvised and his performance was one of the best in this film. So here are all of his scenes edited together.
My friends cat, Noodles, brings a fresh mouse onboard their house boat and proceeds to consume it. Turn it up loud for extra bone crunching!
