They were led by Paul Pierce's huge 31 points against D Howard's 28 points. The Big Mountain Battle took place last Saturday in warm spring weather with 28 teams competing. The team called Natural Ice comprised of Owen Packard and Nate Herman won with the time of 1:57:16 and will advance to compete in the finals taking place on March 28th in Aspen, Co. Before the race, Nathan met up with The Johnson Primates, aka Evan Riggs and Dan Schwartz, who finished second with a time of 1:58:15 - just one minute and one second behind the first place team. To win, the teams had to cover all the checkpoint lifts, runs and hikes around the mountain in a 3 hour time period. Helly Hansen provided lots of great prizes for this fun and exciting day of competition involving strategy, skill, stamina, and timing from start to finish! There were lights everywhere. Nate was standing beside a table, wearing a black suit. He looked so handsome, he looks like his dad when they were little. Nick and I practically grew up together. I finally got this done! YES. Oh gee. This was undone for so long. It was in my external hard drive for months D: BUT TODAY. [Or you could say yesterday.] Everything was done & I decided to finally finish this. I didn't have any more distractions being that yesterday was my last day of school before we return for 2010. Yeee :D! The trip: IT WAS HOOOOOOT. OMFGG. IT WAS SO HUMID D8. In the middle of the video you could see me with messed up hair. & that's that's because I damped water all over my face. We got really really close seats right IN FRONT of the Away/Giants dugout! It would be nice to have these seats at AT&T. But that would cost a fortune. To be honest, compared to the quarter full or sold out crowds at AT&T, the Great American Ballpark seemed really empty D: what happened to the Cincinnati Reds? My Dad told me in the 70s they would be called the Big Red Machine because of all the big hitters they had. And now . . . ? All their good players are either injured, gone/retired, or they traded him them away !! I hope the Reds can maintain another big fan base once again. An impressive feat, I finished this in 2 days!!! And I am very proud of how it came out :) So I made it through to marimilla's Challenge 1 which stated as its only rule that we had to vid a song from a list of her favorite songs. I listened to all of the songs on the list and got a few ideas and even started one but I just didn't have the inspiration to finish. I even told her I wouldn't be able to finish in time, lol. She extended it longer and I still didn't feel I could finish the vid I started for it. But the other night, I was listening to my iTunes and this song played and after seeing the 'Gossip Girl' mid-season finale I knew what I had to do. Chuck Bass is my favorite character hands down on 'Gossip Girl.' I feel he is the most developed character of the show and he deserves way more screen time than he's been given. But finally in the mid-season finale we got more Chuck time and Ed Westwick did a phenomenal job in his performance. So when I heard this song and looked up the lyrics I knew that this was a song for Chuck Bass. I ditched hobby-video-editing for editing-for-TV - I worked (and will work again in September) at a TV program at my university and that was enough of the cutting room for me. :) 3. I transported all my clips on an external drive and it's more frustrating to work with them now, lol. 4. I also had to delete a bunch of clips, like all my Doctor Who episodes. All that's left is my Gossip Girl material. Which brings us to reason #5... 5. The lameness of Gossip Girl made me want to beat up cute puppies. Or Josh Schwartz. The MMA fan in me is getting really excited about some of the things the UFC has done recently. A free show that has a total of 9 televised fights, the signing of former lightweight champ Caol Uno, and now the signing of the best middleweight fighter from Japan. Akiyama is a decorated Judoka with strong striking, a freakish judo game, and the ability to finish via submission. His lone loss coming at the hands of a pro heavyweight kickboxer, Jerome Le Banner. "The Ultimate Fighting Championship today announced that it has signed top-ten middleweight contender Yoshihiro Akiyama to an exclusive promotional contract that will see him step into the UFC Octagon for the first time this summer." "Im excited to bring Akiyama into the UFC and I can see him making an immediate impact in the middleweight division," said UFC President Dana White. "Besides his great judo and submission game, hes a finisher, and UFC fans are going to love watching him because he always shows up to fight." It seems as though the UFC is moving forward with the plans of globalizing their product. MMA is big business in Japan, and by signing Japan's most famous fighter, this will be much more plausible. Philippe Lamoureux makes a terrific save, robbing Nate Gerbe of Boston College during the Frozen Four semifinal game. BC would go on to win the game, knocking out the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux from the national tournament. The save would finish as the #1 play of the day on ESPN's Sportscenter. I believe it also made the top 10 plays of the week.
