More videos at: arttube.boijmans.nl As a boy, on his way to school, he used to pick a mandarin from the tree that grew in the curve of the staircase to his home. After all these years, the scent of a mandarin peel brings him back to his youth; to the classroom, notebooks and pencils to the boy he was, the person he wanted to be and, perhaps, already was in the eyes of his classmates. Being a famous fashion designer, Hussein Chalayan picks a piece its just a fragment from the infinitely complex pattern of human experiences and relationships. Micro Geography thats how he calls his installation in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The installation shows a human figure, a woman, under water. The water is moved by the wind and changes colour, depending on the time of the day. Like the small plants, the woman seems to float with the tide and to be rooted in the soil. But at the same time there are cameras everywhere. Each movement of her body is seen by many eyes. The figure is trapped in an instable network of relationships. And then yet another person comes and starts looking at her. That person is you! Who does she want to be? Who is she in your eyes. And what does your gaze mean for who she is or will become? This video is part of the The Art of Fashion exhibition, on view until January 10th 2010 at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Camera: Nanko Goeting Editing: Jorrit Spoelstra at Photoboothworks

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) notes that most employers seek designers with 2- or 4-year degrees. Basic coursework for a bachelor's degree typically includes textiles, sewing, CAD training, and fashion history. Fashion design students may also want to supplement their core curriculum with classes in business, human anatomy, and psychology. Aspiring designers can also gain valuable experience from internships or retail jobs, and should always maintain an impressive portfolio.
**READ FIRST** Okay so this is a trailer I made for my best friend Anna. She's writing this REALLY good fan fiction with the characters of Twilight. I hope she loves this like i do. I dedicate this to her! I'd also like to thank dutayeja for the beginning effect of this video. Bella has always dreamed of going to Julliard to become a professional ballerina. During her time at her dream school she makes new friends, like her two roommates: Alice- One of the most talented dancers at the school, dreams of becoming a fashion designer but trapped by her parents expectations. && Rosalie- The free spirited painter who grew up on the upper east side. Always wears a smile to hide that frown, no one can tell she sometimes wants to die. Bella also becomes close to Emmett, the campus leading actor who is unsatisfied with life and his good friend Jasper, a loner guitarist whose haunted by his mistakes and finds that drugs help him forget for a while. But most importantly of all Bella runs into Edward, the arrogant self centered douche, who is too good to mingle with the common folk of their school. The prodigy concert pianist has a lot to learn from the stubborn ballerina. This is a story of growth, love, lust and finding out the difference between following our minds and following our hearts.

Russian born Lana Fuchs is the designer of Lana Fuchs Couture, the lifestyle brand Billionaire Mafia and founder of Emerald Dream Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization. Lanas love affair with fashion began when she was a child, designing and sewing clothes for her favorite Barbie doll. After completing her education and establishing a successful career in business management, Lana decided that it was time for a change. In 1995, she relocated with her family from California to Las Vegas, where she established a small studio and began creating one-of-a-kind designs and custom made garments for prominent women worldwide. This endeavor soon proved to be a great success. Lana was sought out by more and more women to create custom wardrobes to fit their lifestyles. With public recognition of her talent and eye for distinct individuality, her clientele continued to grow. Trying to balance her life as a wife, mother of two and fashion designer, Lana has taken a slow and steady approach to her endeavor. It was not until 2004, that she decided to create her first ready-to-wear collection, which gained instant momentum and recognition. Since then, Lana has been published in a growing list of magazines, fashion editorials and featured on WEtv Womens Entertainment and Lifetime ...
