Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours and HIGH for 3-4 hours, until veggies and potatoes are tender. After the desired time turn your crockpot to HIGH, if it wasnt already. Now add the half and half. This year we cooked 96 Turkey for our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Pit BBQ. We had a great time and the Turkey turned out perfect. Special thanks to Arnett Backhoe Service for digging our trench. It was 65' long x 5' deep and 2' wide. We had enough room for at least 4 more Turkey so next year we must break 100. Sassy C's came out with the ovens again this year and backed us Cinamon Rolls on site; they also brought dozens and dozens of Dinner Rolls and Pumpkin Pies for the Thanksgiving dinners... they were incredibly delicious as always. Jone's Kettle Corn came out for the first time this year and we are glad they did, absolutely the best Kettle Corn we have ever had; less than 24 hours later and I'm allready Jonesin for more, I guess that's why they call it Jone's Kettle Corn cuz you just can't get enough. If you are planning any type of event I highly recomend both Sassy C's and Jone's Kettle Corn they will make a big hit with your attendees. We are so greatfull to Greer Family Farm for hosting us again this year; they were most accomodating and we really appreciate them for providing the space for the pit and putting up with our ever growing pile of firewood these past 3 months. The firewood came from the Boy Scouts of Troop 82; they have been doing service projects in the neighborhood by cleaning up as many old, dead trees as they could and since most of it was Citrus the coals in the pit were perfect. Thanks for all your hard work guy's!!! We really appreciate all of ...

In this video, Betty demonstrates a quick, easy, nutritious, and thrifty meal--Ham-Seasoned Soup Beans with Cornbread, a favorite Southern Combo! Ingredients: (2) 15.5 oz. cans pinto beans (You may use any type of canned dried bean--red beans, butter beans, navy beans, Great Northern beans, etc. All of these are referred to generically in my region as "soup beans." You may make your beans from dry beans. This will be a cheaper meal, but a little more trouble for you. Just follow the package instructions on the dry beans.) 5 oz. Hormel chunk ham (You may use leftover ham chunks or other types of prepared ham chunks.) 3/4 cup self-rising flour 1 1/2 cups self-rising cornmeal mix (This is a mixture of cornmeal and flour. If you cannot find it, mix 1 cup of plain cornmeal with 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, add 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon baking powder.) 2 eggs 1 cup of milk (or enough to make a batter that is the consistency of cake batter) 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for baking pan (I used peanut oil.) NOTE: I FAILED TO MENTION ADDING THE OIL TO THE BAKING PAN, BUT IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE PAN TO BE GREASED, SPRAYED WITH COOKING OIL, OR HAVE 1 TABLESPOON OF VEGETABLE OIL ADDED. 1 chopped onion (for topping, if desired) Empty the 2 cans of pinto beans, including liquid, into a medium saucepan. Add the ham chunks, including liquid, to the beans. Stir together, and place over low heat while you prepare your cornbread. (Stir the beans occasionally.) In a large bowl, combine 3 ...
