Starring Andy Serkis, Naomie Harris and Ray Winstone. A biography of Ian Dury who was stricken with polio at a young age and defied expectations by becoming one of the founder of the punk-rock scene in Britain in the 1970s.

One of my all-time favorites, the great Ian Dury as "Terry Fitch", from the movie "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover". This astounding, ground-breaking, and often misunderstood film, written and directed by Peter Greenaway in 1989, is truly a cinematic masterpiece in my opinion. It stars some of British cinema's best actors such as Michael Gambon, Alan Howard, Tim Roth, Liz Smith, and the irrepressible Golden Globe/Emmy/Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren in what I consider to be the best role of her long, illustrious career. Not only the acting, but also the marvelously crafted script, sets, music, editing, costumes, and dialogue set this black comedy apart in a class by itself. It is both a pleasureable and painful experience. The movie pleases, soothes, and tantalizes while jarring, attacking, and even repulsing all of your senses simultaneously. There is no middle ground with this exquisite work of art; you either love or hate it, period. To quote the amazon.com review by Bret Fetzer: "Few directors polarize audiences like Peter Greenaway, a filmmaker as influenced by Jacobean revenge tragedy and 17th century painting as by the French New Wave.
